Laughing Hens Avis 

First time ordering with them but the price of the yarn was competitive,and despatch was fast. However when I wanted to exchange part of the order the problem started. They didn’t answer the phone or the answerphone message they asked me to leave. So I emailed them. No reply. Having read the reviews regarding refund time I decided to cut my losses by selling the yarn online and ordering from from my usual store I won’t be using them again.

After having placed from Australia a successful order a few months ago, I was very confident and placed a second larger order. The money $163.- was taken and a dispatch note was send to me on the 30th of June.
Since then, absolutely no answer to my many emails as I was trying to find out what happened to my order. I'm at home with a broken femur and was really looking forward to do some knitting.
It's such a shame, I do love the wonderful range of products Laughing Hens offers, but can't understand such a poor customer service.

Laughing Hens always has what I'm looking for, and usually in abundance. No matter how niche I think the yarn I want is, Laughing Hens has it. My orders have always been processed promptly, and delivery has always been quick too, even though I'm in Australia and they're in the UK. I chose them because the name made me smile, and I keep going back to them because they're reliable, their prices are great, and they get everything done at the speed of light. They're my favourite yarn shop. Thank you, Laughing Hens!

ordered from Germany, picked this site because of their affordable prices. The cart before checkout specifically stated that the order is customs cleared with no additional fees having to be paid. getting my order shipped took them almost four days, and now I had to pay almost 40€ in extra fees upon receival?? import taxes, obvious in hindsight, but the “no extra fees coming your way”-statement on the website was VERY misleading. to add insult to injury I also never received a reply from their customer support after emailing them about shipping times and questions regarding said customs clearance.
edit: changing this from 1 to 3 stars as they did end up reimbursing me for the fees I had to pay after I wrote another email. Overall I do think I’ll stick to another store next time, saving a couple bucks is not worth this hassle.

Ordered on the 26th May, no confirmation or despatch email so rang on the 29th and told order just been passed to warehouse and I’d receive it on the 30th, they would also send me a confirmation email, which they didn’t. I received it on the 1st June. I expect to wait 3/4 days for delivery but not six. Good prices, poor service.

Very poor communications, ordered wool on 02/04 still nothing, 10/04. Took 3 emails to get a reply. I ordered other wool at the same time, from other companies and it all came days ago ( including from Denmark) im afraid i wont buy from these again.

Swift delivery, excellent product. They're now my go-to for knitting goodies.

Lovely independent yarn supplier, incredibly helpful staff and a fantastic range of yarns of all weights, colours, fibres to suit every pocket, from budget to luxury.

I tried ordering from different places and this company is in the top 3 if you’re in the UK. The dispatch takes a few days but it’s stated on the website. The order arrived within time frame given well packed and nothing missing.

My yarn arrived today and it was exactly what I ordered. Only took 1 1/2 weeks to Australia! Very excited to have found this site! I will definitely use again :)

Easy to navigate website. Great selection of colours for the wool I was looking for and by far the cheapest I could find it. Order arrived quickly and even had additional balls of wool thrown in for no extra cost.
Will definitely use this company again.

Wanted some more wool to finish a project and was directed here by my wool shop, who no longer stock my chosen yarn. It's quite good, you can compare like yarns and find things quite easily.

Wonderful service, going away on Saturday and spoke to a very nice customer service lady on Monday , requesting the order arrived by Friday Order just arrived.

Die Website ist deutsch, die Adresse ist deutsch und nirgendwo ein Hinweis, dass das ein Unternehmen aus England ist. Mein Paket hängt seit Wochen im Zoll fest, ich werde auch noch Zollgebühren bezahlen müssen und finde es eine Frechheit, das darauf nicht hingewiesen wird

3rd order from the company, shipping to Canada is affordable but not the fastest. Besides the extra shipping time I love the company, great product selections, always a sale and reliable service, great prices! Never had to deal with a return however, so would not be able to spreak on that

I am Canadian. Was reluctant to order from the UK but my order arrived in less than a week and all the skeins were from the same dye lot, with the dye lot specified on top of the bag. I even had a tracking number even tho I chose the less expensive shipping option.

I placed an order on 19th February. Money left my account on 20th. An email on 21st said the goods had been shipped.

No package, no information and no response to my email.

I too, wish that I had read the reviews beforehand.

On Friday, I placed an order through their German language website. Immediately after placing that order, I realized they were shipping from the UK. So I replied to the confirmation email, cancelling that order. I sent the cancellation only seconds after that order, and sent another cancellation email maybe 30 minutes later, to make sure. They didn't respond on Saturday, which, fair enough. Then I sent them another cancellation email on Monday, at 12:42. At 13:51 I get an email with the shipping confirmation! That is unprofessional.

Returned items from two orders in separate parcels. A month later, no refund or contact from them. I emailed them and they asked for proof of post as parcel may be lost. One parcel maybe but both??? Sent proof of postage over a week ago. No response. Tried again. Sill no response.
So disappointed in them as I used them several years ago with no problems. It's a shame they no longer have high standards or behave ethically.
All I can advise is that you avoid shopping with them.
