We have been in correspondence with Mercedes in regards to letting a 3 bed property with Moginie James. Emailing back and forth with her has been a simple process with fast responses making the process a dream! Throughout the viewing of the property, Mercedes was transparent and explained all options fully - especially the residency scheme option!

I was emailed details of a property and was able to arrange a viewing with Bradley the following morning. The property was everything we were looking for and Bradley quickly emailed me the following paperwork to begin the application process. We came in looking for a 2-3 bed property and were seen instantly and were given a list of properties within a few minutes. Bradley went through the available properties and was extremely knowledgeable on each one. He then organised a viewing for the same day at a time that suited us. Walked into the office on a weekend (after being stood up by a different estate agents) - spoke to Mercedes, and within minutes we had a property viewing arranged for the next week.

Went to the property viewing, absolutely perfect for myself and my partner to rent - got presented with plenty of helpful, relevant information. Mercedes was really helpful all throughout the viewing, and we got the application form for the property within a couple hours after the viewing.

Great estate agents, good communication and always happy to talk at their offices. Highly recommend for a stress-free experience!

My experience with Moginie James lettings was bad. I saw good reviews around 18 months ago and as I was looking for tenants, I decided to use their lettings services.
My tenants left last week a I noticed that the property had been neglected, required full cleaning, painting, repair of the bathroom, repair of laminate, etc. Everything showed long term neglect that wasn't picked by the property inspections that the agency seldom did. On top of that, the tenants owe one day rent as their 4-week notice period overlapped with one day of their next rental month. Although, I have rent guaranteed insurance, additional 3% each month, I was told be the team that the only way to recover that rent is through small claims court. I was lucky that is only one day rent loss and that rent guaranteed is not worth the paper it was written on. The agency has been very unhelpful so far. My advice is be very careful because when things go wrong there is no one to help and everyone blames someone else

We have always received an excellent service from Ellie. She has great communication and has been so helpful and supportive when renting our properties.

I have never felt compelled to leave a review before, but my experience with Moginie James (Pontcanna) has been so disappointing that I feel it is necessary to warn others. My flatmate and I were consistently ignored by Nicola and her colleagues, who failed to respond to our emails, calls, and "Fix Flo" requests. They repeatedly claimed that they were waiting for the landlord's approval, stating that he was unresponsive. However, after 10 months of frustration, Rent Smart Wales informed me that the landlord was actually very responsive and willing to address the issues, including the unsafe, rotting balcony.

We were paying £1000 for a property with a lovely balcony, which was a major selling point. After my initial visit, I was assured that the balcony would be "made safe." Unfortunately, upon moving in, I discovered that only 1 out of the 12 rotten decking panels had been replaced, which was completely inadequate. Additionally, our windows were broken for the entire 12-month tenancy and were never fixed, resulting in higher heating bills.

To make matters worse, I received two parking fines totaling £320 in my last week of tenancy because the parking permit provided by Moginie James was a photocopy. If you are renting with them, ensure your parking permit is valid, as it seems they may issue photocopies. Moginie James are refusing to take responsibility, and due to this being a legal issue, I am now forced to pay.

Throughout my tenancy, Moginie James (Pontcanna) consistently refused to take responsibility and hoped that we would simply go away. Their unprofessionalism and laziness were evident in every interaction. At the start of the tenancy, I could see how unprofessional they acted and made sure to take pictures and videos of everything, anticipating that they would try to blame me at the end of the tenancy. This is exactly what they did, attempting to bill me for everything. To avoid further fuss, I paid them £100 to be finally done with them. Their inventory pictures were incorrect, adding to the frustration.

In contrast, the Roath branch was helpful and professional, particularly Christopher Ashton, who was the only person to correspond and genuinely try to assist us.

If you are considering renting through Moginie James, I strongly advise against the Pontcanna branch. While I have heard that their sales services are decent, their letting services are abysmal. There are other reviews similar to mine, so please take this warning seriously.

I have just bought a house through Morgine James and was shocked to find I had to pay £80 for them to check my identity and get 3 months free legal cover (not really free then), I've never had this with any other agent and I've bought at least one house a year for the last 5yrs.
It's really a way to get you to sign up for legal services from Lifetime Legal.

I was also told on viewing that the house would be empty on completion, as we got near that date I asked about the house being cleared and was told the seller has said it's being sold as seen. It was a corporate sale however it should have been made clear at the beginning of the sales process as the house was full of someone's stuff, as if they had just walked out the door and never came back.

My partner and I recently found a house to rent through Moginie James and the process was very straightforward. The team made it a very streamlined process and everyone was super nice. Naomi was really helpful, always friendly and happy to answer our questions and we were very happy to have her guide us through the process! Laura then took over at the final stages and she was very efficient and quick to finalise it all. Would definitely recommend!

Recently had a few viewings with Mercedes which were great. The first two properties had a few issues but Mercedes was super patient with us and took us to view another property which was much more suited. Mercedes is knowledgable and informative about the properties and contract process which is great as we are students so not used to renting. Everyone we've spoken to in Moginie James has been absolutely lovely and happy to help. Overall been a very positive experience during a really stressful time for us!

Moginie James made a very stressful time of my life easy and smooth. The process of renting with them was one of the easier ones I've dealt with, and everyone was very helpful. During my viewing with Mercedes, she was very informative and helpful with any questions I had and any follow up enquiries I had she was prompt to answer and work out on my behalf. All in all, a happy experience with them!
