Painting By Numbers Ltd Avis 

I sent in a photo of my pet Chihuahua for a custom painting. My dog is tan coloured. I started painting the canvas with the colours supplied, but the coat of the dog in the picture is dark chocolate brown and therefore nothing at all like my pet. I haven't even bothered finishing it; its been sitting in a drawer for months now - what's the point when it looks nothing like my dog. Very disappointing. Update: I have seen the response below, but the fact remains that in the photo I sent in, my dog's coat quite clearly shows as being tan, yet you have made him very dark brown. So, in effect, there is no point in having a 'custom' painting as there is no guarantee the painting will look anything like the subject. I was going to do my other dog too - good job I didn't order both at the same time as that would have been £82 wasted instead of £41.

Being a serious paint by numbers enthusiast, I have bought kits from various companies but I have to say the kits I have just had delivered are the best I have ever had. Their website is easy to follow and they have a largest selection I have ever seen and judging by the quality of the kits I have received, I can not recommend them highly enough. Well done Paintbynumbers

The most sh** company, they lie that is in UK because they come from China.
Asked for help to buy more paints and very poor and rubbish costumer service.

I sent in a photo for a custom picture kit and the version they produced was poor. I phone them up and they said my photo was of low resolution and if I sent a better copy or a different photo they would give me a 50% discount. I checked my photo and it was poor resolution. I sent in a different picture and back came a promising preview, followed by a new kit a couple of days later, The detail on the canvas was incredible, the quality of the canvas excellent as were the paints. I have not yet finished the picture, but it looks brilliant. My only complaint is the lack of a reference sheet.

I sent this to them still awaiting a response .I recently purchased two of your paintings .
I did contact you regarding the quality of one of the colours and you did send a replacement.
I have now completed the windmill painting and went to fit it to the frame supplied by you . I found that an approx. 25mm boarder all round the painting cannot be seen as the frame is to small. I have just tried the other painting (ZSKIM00050) which I have yet to start in the frame and that seems to lose a 35mm border. Not impressed.

I also feel that the colours supplied do not match those shown in the photo supplied . In that they are rather bold or harsh . As I had paints from other projects towards the end of the painting I was able to use these colours rather that those supplied . I hope that I will not be disappointed with ZSKIM00050.
Now started this painting and the quality of the paints are not good small flaks within the colour.

Shall not use this company again.

Very poor. Paints dry, canvas badly fitted to frame, no reference card. Just a very low effort and expensive product.

I'm still waiting on my product to come and it has been 8 days since I last had an 'update' on shipping information. I've emailed the company and shipping courier (Yun Express from CHINA!!! Company was advertised as being UK based) and still no reply. After reading reviews on here, I feel as though I've just wasted £50+.

Really disappointed with my custom paint by numbers. I used a photo of a lovely boat scene with mostly blues and greys and got sent something with loads of brown, turning it into a horrible muddy boat yard. Fair to say the colours were completely off.
One of the paints was really thin, so watery that I could not use it.
Some of the printed numbers on the canvas were so difficult to make out - the placing was bad and some were faint and blurry.
I completed it anyway, mixing my own colours and filling in missing detail, but it was a much more frustrating experience than relaxing. For £29 I feel completely ripped off.
I tried leaving a 1 star verified review on their website, which never got published- surely this is false advertising?

I ordered a paint by numbers from this company and I really wish I had read the reviews beforehand! Exactly as other reviews state the colours do not match at all, our bodies were bright red and my husbands white t shirt was blue & beige? There was no resemblance to the photo! The quality of the paints were horrendous and were very lumpy and it wasn’t cheap compared to other websites, which was one of my main reasons for purchasing, as I thought “at that price it should be a decent quality” I contacted the company and explained the situation, their reply was short “if you’re not happy return it all including the brushes” so I did as they asked. After over a week had passed I took it upon myself to chase up the refund via email, I received a refund later that night (so I'm not sure why Steve failed to do this previously and it took the consumer to chase) I also received a very sarcastic response from Steve! Their customer service is non-existent and I will never order from this company and I will do my best to ensure no ione else does! Please do not waste your money!!!!!!

This was Steve's response when shown photos of the faulty colours for a 2nd time, says it all really:

We can’t keep sending you new pots, canvas, frame all the time.

Been over 2 months and still not got my order, received a text to say it was being shipped a month ago, the shipping number doesn’t even work, then I emailed them and they took 2 weeks to get back to me to say it hasn’t even been shipped yet and it’s still processing. Spend over £50 of money here this is ridiculous.

As many people I am struggling in quarantine to find an occupation; to keep my creativity on going and to not lost myself into movies and series and eating. Their have been may add on social media about painting by number and I thought what not try... BUT which one? Which website? Which one to trust on this overload of advertisement... Well the name of the website talk for itself; professional in the market, the website is not only easy to understand but give you the product matching to your individual need. In a Current situation I thought desperate that I would not be able to order and maybe would never be deliver.. I have read the previous comments and I am surprised; I had the chance to ask for assistance in the website to understand when and how can I order Steve bring me all my answered, Friday 27th march 2020 at night I easily/ order and receive a package tracker, I received it today Monday already started to paint my parrot 🦜 I absolutely love it. I am sorry for those how felt let down but I find that amazing they can process their order and deliver in short notice within the current situation. They are professional and have an amazing customer service. 3000 thank you 😊 🦜

"The No.1seller of paint by numbers"

My mum ordered from this company a personalised paint by number as a Christmas present. The website states delivery time is 1-5 days for the UK. The item was ordered at the end of November and finally arrived on the 5th January after numerous emails trying to get a response from the company - all that was ignored. The company is registered to Cheltenham which is based in the UK but this was clearly not dispatched from the UK,more like china due to packing. I have since been in touch with the company as I have started my painting but feel that the colours do not reflect the photo. I was told "As you can see on your photo, the faces are not properly exposed, there are very harsh shadows. Please note that the quality of your photo reflects the quality of the paint by numbers". I then forwarded the orginial photo and my painting and asked which part of my photo showed that my skin was dark brown to which noone has responded for over a week. Not only when you upload the photo do they check that the quality is acceptable, you also receive an email to confirm they are happy with the quality of the image.

I would not recommend this company to anyone and suggest you avoid them at all costs!

I ordered 2 products from these people 5 weeks ago. They were intended as Christmas presents - hence ordering in good time. They sent me tracking info quite quickly and I monitored this frequently. Unfortunately, for a period of 18-20 days the information didn’t change. All I knew was that they were in China and didn’t seem to be going anywhere. I contacted the website a couple of times only to be told that they were in transit, they could not give any estimate of delivery, they could not cancel the order, they could not refund my money. They were, however, “very sorry for [my] disappointment”. When I ordered these I had no idea their origin was China and nowhere is this made clear. If you burrow into the delivery small print they claim they don’t carry much stock and sometimes have to source direct from “overseas”. They also say that if you haven’t received the goods in 45 days(!) you should contact them. I ended up contacting my card company and getting them to refund the money. I guess they will turn up eventually but too late for Christmas. The website is unclear and, unless you check the small print, you are likely to be misled into thinking this product will be sent from the UK and will arrive in a reasonably timely fashion. If and when you complain or enquire you will be given a shrug of the shoulders and told there is nothing they can do about it - which they can’t because your goods are in some eternal passage from China and they don’t have control over anything apart from taking your money! Not quite a scam but perilously close, in my opinion. Dreadful company - get your products elsewhere.

Like other reviewers I believed this to be a UK company.
It’s been over a month and I am still awaiting delivery of my order...from China.

I have had no response from repeated attempts to contact the company.

Ordered something off this website beginning of November to allow plenty of time to arrive before Christmas. This item has still not arrived. I have contacted customer services a number of times who have said it’s in transit. I have further found out that the item is coming from China!! This was not mentioned before I bought the item, and has UK written all over it. I am now trying to get a refund for this item as I have not received the goods intended.

Hopefully this review will be seen by all before buying from this website and I wouldn’t want anyone else to have to go through the nightmare of sorting this out.

I will never ever use this site again and will spread my concern far and widely

I hope I can give them minus 5, I've been waiting for over 6 weeks still get nothing! I emailed and messaged them but no reply. DON"T buy anything from them! they are possibly scam!
