Consistent, clear communication and guidance

I really enjoyed working with my mentor. I learnt a lot from her and she never failed to answer any of my questions. She clarified my doubts and guided me throughout my Polygence journey.

I loved Polygence! It was self-paced, my mentor was incredible, and I got to feature it on my college applications, which has been highly beneficial.

I truly appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with seasoned professionals who had extensive expertise in the specific field of my research. My mentor demonstrated remarkable kindness and humility throughout my project, fostering an environment rich in learning. Overall, my experience with Polygence was not just educational, but also exhilarating and enriching.

Core program marked completed after 10 mentoring sessions, but there is no outcome of the project. My son was supposed to complete his research paper, as promised by Polygence, by end of the program, but I don't see any of the deliverables completed yet. Probably Polygence should periodically check with the students and mentors on milestones met, and pace the mentor sessions accordingly, instead of marking project as complete. I can see my son is trying to come up with a draft research paper, but not sure he would be able to finish it with no sessions left with mentor - and additional sessions are not free.

I had no prior experience to research before Polygence. They provided helpful databases and the mentorship program made it very comfortable to go through the research experience for the first time. While the experience is quite great, the platform can be buggy at times. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it if you’re thinking about doing research as a high schooler.

Good experience and exposure to High school kids.

This allowed me to pursue a field I am interested in, and better my sense of what I want to do in the future. I enjoyed learning, and have learned more here than I have anywhere else.

This was a great experience for my son. His mentor was excellent and helped to teach him important skills related conducting effective research and producing a professional paper. The post meeting summaries were great to help me understand project progress and how engaged my student was in the process.

I had a great experience at Polygence. My mentor Jessica helped me take my original project idea and make it more applicable to my life. What started as a project on understanding the causes of Schizophrenia turned into also figuring out what impact the condition has in my community, and what I think can be done about it. I’m really proud of my paper, and I hope to submit it to journals, but also my local newspaper.

Really unclear how the process works and helps the child

The mentor was the best part of the program. Providing constant support, effort, and time, the mentors clearly give the student all required time and more to ensure a successful product.

My daughter's mentor was a really good fit for her, and helped talk her through a hard task of writing an original research paper. It was a lot of work to do along with applications, and she doesn't know if she has an avenue for publishing yet, so planning to do it earlier would have been better.

Very nice. A very flexible and tailored experience, ended with a great project and gained lots of knowledge.

I got paired with a really great mentor who helped me learn more about the process of writing research papers and improving my research skills. I believe that this is a great program that will teach you how to develop effective research skills that will be useful for life. The main concern is the high expensive cost, but it is worth it for the experience.

The mentor did good job getting paper started, but wasn't very helpful once the paper was started in organizing the material and adding any comments. Other people who have reviewed the paper, have agreed, that it could be better organized to read better. This was my first research paper, so better guidance would have been appreciated

The research was supposed to be done for 1 year, but everything was just rushed to meet every week, or every other week, trying to finish everything in 2 months or so.
