Punch Technology Avis 

I've made an account on here just to leave this specific review as I'm pretty annoyed.

Purchased a custom system from Punch a little over 4 years ago. Great initial impressions, solid build quality, was performing as expected at the time.

Noticed my PC has been struggling to keep up currently, but the system is aging and the games I'm playing are becoming more demanding so not a surprise. But I've noticed my system struggling even with newer games that require hardware specs well below what my system has. Initial investigation showed that my CPU (2600x) was running above 90C under load and thermal throttling as a result. Was advised by a friend to reapply a new layer of thermal paste to see what difference that could make. Here's where a major issue was discovered

Punch Technology did not apply a layer of thermal paste when they built my system 4 years ago. As a result I suspect my CPU has likely been thermal throttling for the best part of 4 years and I've only now discovered this and the cause. Having actually applied it myself now my CPU records temperatures under 60C at full load rather than above 90C.

I also have serious doubts around how adequate their testing regime is. Not applying thermal paste is a considerable mistake. Not discovering this during the supposed testing phase is incredibly incompetent.

I've been happy for 4 years but no longer could I suggest anyone consider buying a system from Punch Technology. Yes mistakes can happen when building a system, and yes these can be rectified, but if they couldn't even discover the system was thermal throttling during their own testing, whatever that entails, then I wouldn't trust them to discover the potential mistakes they could make.

I'll probably be upgrading to a new system soon and I have no choice but to look elsewhere as a result.

Edit - Received a call from Punch Technology about my issue which I greatly appreciate, showed genuine concern about how this could have happened. 4 years down the line now so not much that can be done and I'm not after any sort of compensation, my PC still works perfectly fine albeit a little cooler now, just wanted to bring this to their attention in the hopes it doesn't happen again.

I am very satisfied with the service and how the delivery date and time were easily arranged and communicated to me. PC was ready to work right out of the box and has been great, no issues at all.

Super fast communcation when a part came out of stock Punch emailed me and when i hadnt seen the email they phoned within 2 hours of the email meaning my PC could be shipped to me the very same day they replaced the cooler.

Excellent company ,very easy to use website to build or modify your pc for punch to build , build quality is excellent as mine has a glass sided case so you can see the attention to detail, works absolutely as it should with no problems,

Very please with my computer from Punch Technology designed specifically for photography. Clean build no unwanted software except Windows made life trouble free. Photoshop and lightroom is effortless.

The best computer i've ever had, super fast.

A very good company, it would have been 5 stars but their customer service dropped when there was a delay in the delivery by not contacting me, i had to do all the chasing.

Top marks for techical support in defining the specification of the PC

Living locally to Punch Technology I went and spoke them with regards to my requirements. They were extremely helpful and designed my machine within my budget and it was to a high specification.

We ordered a custom build desktop PC. It took a little longer than anticipated to get delivered but customer care did keep us well informed after I commented on the delay. The desktop has arrived and we have been using it for several weeks. All is functioning well to the specs we asked (a fan was upgraded to fit the desktop we odered). Hopefully the desktop will prove to be a reliable work horse!

Price and build were great, but the lag on the order status is frustrating: my order is still apparently 23 in the build queue two weeks after it was delivered.

Unfortunately I cannot log in my previous account and change my review, so I made new account.
I purchased PC for 2600 and at the first moment it didn't run perfect. After I was suggested to send it back to Punch Technology and after it is running perfect. Thank you for your service and hope it will run for ages perfectly.
