Salt Dog Cycling Avis 

My purchase arrived within the advertised timeframe. Which is unusual for Royal Mail. It’s normally outside the 48Tracked by about, well an additional 48hrs.
Unfortunately, the item, a pair of Lake winter boots were too small. I immediately contacted Salt dog and was treated courteously and respectfully and giving clear guidance on the method of returning them.

Great service and great bike box. Will shop here again for sure. Thank you so much!

Very reactive and friendly company and they sell Lake shoes, brilliant. Packaging, delivery, timing and communication was all perfect. As a small family business use them if you can. Ride safely people

I searched high + low for a pair of Udog gravel shoes + came across Salt Dog. I rang up + sure enough they had a pair.

Richard bless him he answered the phone whilst on holiday with his family + assured me the shoes would arrive in time for my up & coming tour and they did cheers Richard. 10++

I ordered a pair of Currex HikePro insoles at about £10 less than I’d paid for the runners version in a high street shop. Super quick delivery too. Very happy and hopefully my feet will feel the benefit too. 5 stars and would definitely shop here again.

I left an online enquiry about insoles for the Lake cycling shoes that I had bought in December. Richard took the time to call me to chat through what kind of support I was looking for in my insoles. In a click and order world, it was refreshing to get a phone call and advice as opposed to a wing and a prayer. I received my insoles within a couple of days and my near perfect Lake shoes are now perfect. Thanks Richard.

I had to return some shoes because they were too small, it couldn't have been easier, the service was great and the response really quick.

I ordered a pair of winter cycling boots and thought I’d ordered the style that would suit my requirements. A really helpful member of the Saltdog team phoned me to check that I had measured my feet properly and after a discussion he actually advised on a different style for my cycling needs. The boots turned up quickly and are extremely well made. I can’t wait for some nasty weather to try them out! Excellent customer service and I would highly recommend 😀

I absolutely 100% did NOT sign up to your marketing emails. I have never done so from any company and make a point of not doing so.

I also unsubscribed when you sent another marketing email and repeated requests for reviews. A violation of GDPR as I’m sure you know. So either way I should never have received your marketing email. For what it’s worth I’m pleased with the purchasing experience but being endlessly bombarded by marketing emails from company’s I explicitly did not sign up for drives me mad.

Great customer service. I knew I wanted Lake size 38. As I didn’t do their Lake sizing template they called me to double check I had my size right and then shoes arrived promptly. Fab service.

Looking for new cycling shoes. Range of available shoes was much larger than on other sites. Information available for each pair superb. Measuring tool was very handy, and advice on adjustments for fitting first class. Most shoes available in half sizes and wide widths, which I needed.
I ended up selecting a pair which, performance wise was far more than I actually need, but for the sake of comfort I decided it was worth the extra cost.
After placing the order, Richard phoned me to discuss my choice, and put my mind at ease that I had made the right choice.
Always apprehensive about buying footwear on line, Salt Dog have a good returns policy.
Shoes arrived within 2 days, and they are absolutely perfect. Fitted cleats, and now can't wait for the strong winds to subside and get out on the trails.

THE place to go for advice on all aspects of Lake shoes. I was amazed at how much the guy knew and he was able to recommend a pair of shoes which fit perfectly.

Purchased a couple of items from Salty Dog and received them very quickly. Very good quality items made by NORTHWAVE and on sale at very low prices. Will definitely be purchasing more cycling products from Salty Dog.

You are on your own when something goes wrong. They will not reply you. So not recommended. There are better alternatives!

I went through a sizing discussion with Richard over my size for a pair of Lake boots. I measured (accurately) my feet and was advised what size to buy. I was sceptical, as it was a size smaller than I expected, but after all the positive reviews, especially on Richard's sizing skills, I trusted him. I shouldn't have. I needed the size I expected. My mistake cost me £20 to send the boots back and get the correct size (which fit well).

Before returning, I double checked my foot measurements, but I hadn't made a mistake. Had some lack of communication when trying to return the boots, but when I got to speak to Richard, he was very apologetic, so maybe that was nothing.

Most of my shoes on or off bike are a 10/45, but apparently I measure a 44 wide in Lake sizing, so was recommended to go with a 45 wide, despite me stating all my winter cycling boots are size 46, as are one of my summer pairs of cycling shoes (which are admittedly a fairly narrow last - I have wide feet). Even with really thin socks I could not stand the 45 boots. With the 46, the fit, with my normal winter socks, is good, but I would not say super roomy.

On the positive size, Richard was very good at answering my questions before placing an order, and obviously knows his products (though not sizing in my case). Price was good and one of the few people to stock a range of Lake boots, and especially the wide sizes.

If I had gone with my gut and against Richard's advice, I would have been delighted, but being £20 out of pocket, I can only say 3*, especially as I was talked out of buying the size I thought I needed (and therefore I think the return cost should have been on Salt Dog, not me). I did not ask Salt Dog to pay, but probably should have.
