Stanley Steemer Terrible Experience - Not Worth the Call

Stanley Steemer came to my home to clean my air ducts, I thought the Technicians were doing a good job until I saw the commercial. They never used a brush to clean my ducts. In fact, I paid for a gel freshner and they didn't install but they charged me. I would NEVER use them again. The person who answered made it sound that I was lying about the freshners until a Supervisor came and confirmed, no freshners were installed. They are $20 a piece, well over priced and USELESS. I was told they worked for at least 6 months, not even a month or 1 day. Terrible company, not worth the trouble.

I had scheduled my 2 houses for the…

I had scheduled my 2 houses for the same day during 8am and 12 pm. They came for the 1st house and did the work but cutting some corners. Once they finished I asked them to follow me to the next house which is literally 1 minute driving. He said that his dispatcher said that he was sent to a different address that they amight be able to send someone in the afternoon. I told him that it was not the deal at all and showed him the emails. He got on the phone and told his dispatcher that the email I showed him did not show the date. I told him that was not true and asked to speak with jim and he blew me off completely. And then he said that someone would be calling me within a few hours and almost 48 hours later heard nothing!!
Please do your homework before calling Stanley Steemer!!

BEWARE if you live in the Bridgewater MA area

BEWARE if you live in the Bridgewater, MA area-think twice before you schedule an appointment with this unreliable company. I scheduled cleaning for my daughters home of 4 rooms over 2 weeks ago for yesterday between 8am and 12pm. We received a confirmation email for our appointment. At 10:00 yesterday I decided to call to see if we could get a better arrival time estimate. The woman told me that because it was scheduled with the wrong franchise the appointment was cancelled!!!!!! The house is litteraly 1 1/2 miles away from the cut off line with the incorrect franchise.
We did NOT receive any type of notification that it was cancelled. There we were with an entire house turned upside down, a 2 year old stressed out because the entire house was turned upside down, my daughter 37 wks pregnant with twins and the best they could tell us is they would come out on Monday. They said they would offer us 10% off, however, the new price with the 10% off was $20 more than our original price. Absolutely disgusted and we will never use this company.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Had them out to clean 4 large pottery barn area rugs. They used wrong equipment to clean them. Ruined them, snags everywhere. Claimed it wasn't their fault. Been arguing with their insurance company. $3000 -2 year old rugs and they want to give me $1500 which is fine but they still want to charge me $600 for the cleaning. Seriously, you want me to pay for the cleaning that ruined my rugs!!! And they want me to take down my negative posts. I agreed to all but the cleaning charge why would I pay for the cleaning that ruined my rugs. I even offered i would write a positive post of how they resolved the issue. They said no. So for $3000 rugs they want to give me $900 and take down my posts. BEWARE. Bad customer service, hack cleaners. I have before and after photos to prove the damage. Oh and corporate says they will be in touch. It has been months.

Stanley Steemer in Orlando was a bad experience

I contacted Stanley Steemer in Orlando, FL. to clean an area rug in my parents’ house. I went with Stanley Steemer thinking that a national company would be trust worthy and reputable. My parents are older and have in-home care so a brand name seemed like the way to go. I was given a quote on-line based on the size rug (8 x 10) and services (clean and deodorize). I was called to confirm the appointment and I thought I had told them to contact me with any changes but Stanley Steemer (they claim to have reviewed the call and said I didn't say this, maybe I didn't) didn't call me. The technicians say they measured the rug and that it was larger than what I had stated on-line. They also said that it need protector. The rug is very old and there was no need to add protector which was why I did not included it in the o-line quote. My dad agreed to the service and the technicians charged for it. I have to assume that they actually did it but I have no way of knowing. The total amount for the service was 1 and a 1/2 time more than the amount I was quoted on-line (it was also more than the value of the rug). By the time I found out about this the technicians had completed the service and left. I called Stanley Steemer thinking they that we could come to a amicable solution. I was told the area manager would get back to me by the end of the day. This did not happen. I called back the next morning and was told he was in the field. I said I would expect a call back within an hour. This did not happen. When the area manager did call me back he was very firm in his position that his technicians were in the right and that this was the end of it. I was very angry and upset at the position he took. What it boiled down to for me was this, Stanley Steemer upsold my elderly parents on a service that was clearly not needed. They would not remove the charge from the bill and that is where it ended. I do not usually write reviews but the way the company treated old people was to much for me. I would not only not recommend Stanley Steemer I would pay more to go to another company. I have already been told by the Orlando office that they will respond to my review and I encourage it. I would also encourage anyone who is considering using this company to think twice. This could have all been avoided if they had been willing to credit the $70 charge for the protector. #stanleysteemer #lessthanethical #anyothercarpetcleaner

Do it yourself, or find a better company!

These jokers showed up at my house and TRIPLED the price I was provided “on the recorded line” when I scheduled with them the day before.

I shared the EXACT square footage to be cleaned and discussed the very simple, new construction project in detail with the hack scheduler I had the ‘pleasure’ of speaking with and they had the audacity to tell me that person must’ve gotten it wrong.

$50 more is wrong. $100 more is unacceptable. TRIPLE is insane.

What a joke of an operation with unreliable, untalented and embarrassing employees at apparently all levels of this company. I can go rent a supermarket steam cleaner and do it myself for $40. That’s 1/10th of what these fools told me.

Don’t listen to the national advertising that is obviously a stretch at best… and be sure you check pricing BEFORE they start the screw job on you! What a waste of time.

Clean carpet but bait and switch selling

Carpet was cleaned and looked very nice for being 15 years old, but the original cost went from $248 to $625. I asked for an explanation but was told it was for returning at least 3 times for the coming year and the extra amount was "additional" which was not clearly explained. Poor customer service. I will not call them again.

Soaking wet.

I was very very disappointed. The man doing the Job was fine, respectful and polite. But not happy at all with the job.. First they told me he would explain any extras, they got in the door with a price, then told me the Scotchgard would be taken out when they clean. Rescotchgard and Deodorize doubled the price. When done my rug was Soaking wet. He had water all over the hardwood floors we had to get towels to clean up. Never again, and never recommend.

I used Stanley steamer in cape cod. The man was rude, came in our house without a mask, when I said something, he went back and put on a ridiculous thin piece of cloth that was not a mask - this is in the height of covid. Only part of the carpet was cleaned and I am convinced the tech was on drugs. I was afraid to ask him to go back and finish the job...he was scary and very rude. I called 3 times to tell management if my experience but never received a return call.I would highly recommend you do not use them.

They did an "okay" job...but their upselling is HORRIBLE.

They did an "okay" job. But the constant upselling was horrible. And I have to pay extra for "deoderizing"? Isn't that what carpet cleaning is supposed to help do? The one technician was way more interested in trying to get me to pay for more services than doing the job itself. I will not have them back

Stanley Steemer Jacksonville

Stanley Steemer Jacksonville, FL, for duct cleaning was literally worst experience ever ! DON'T use them, they are NOT A/C techs ! Workers completely failed to clean lower side of A/C indoor coil, this and stirred up debris left in ducts following supposed duct cleaning caused musty smell in house and horrible allergic reaction. Told later that they had a camera that should have been used to insure ducts were properly cleaned, but it was broken during there service on my home, so that didn't happen, as evident later when A/C tech found a Lg. piece of foam Stanley Steemer left in master bath duct completely blocking airflow ! sheetrock dust all over master bed quilt (didn't cover), sheet-rock dust in bathroom (they washed down my sink)... no booties. Owner sent same crew back with little instruction after me discussing with him at length what had happened. Not enough room on this page to tell all they did/or did not do. Even tried calling Stanley Steemer Corporate 3 times with promise of call back. Never a response ! Would recommend Stanley Steemer to no one !

Bad service from Stanley Steemer

I gave it one star because I guess I had to give it something. The service was terrible!! The guy came out didn't even have the proper things to clean my ceramic tile and grout floor. Very unprofessional! Will never use Stanley Steemer again!

Biggest joke I've dealt with in a long time. I will be going to another company after what I just dealt with. Contacted your company via text to get a quote. Decided to do it. Scheduled on friday for 10 am on a Sunday, odd but it is COVID 19 so ok. Saturday I get a text. Can we reschedule, its easter? We'll still come if you want. Sunday morning at 6:30 am I get a text to reschedule cuz it snowed. Your people knew all of these things on friday when I scheduled. Never again. Worst business practice I've ever seen. I'm an essential during this time. Don't have time to reschedule or empty all the furniture from my house twice. Now I'm screwed. Thanks for nothing stanley steemer.

They did a great and very thorough job…

They did a great and very thorough job the day they came. However, do NOT take advantage of "special offers' where they sell you more services to be claimed in the future. Unless you are given some proof IN WRITING. I paid $200 extra for...something. Then, when I called to schedule, they told me the service term had expired. I tried to get them to re-consider. Nobody from the company ever followed up/called me back. Left several messages with customer service number. No response. Not a good way to end things.
