Yorkshire Windows Avis 

We took the plunge to spend our long saved funds on a UPVC bay window and a composite door. We had several brands out to quote at the same time however the sales colleague Mal was by far the best and most human which is another reason why we decided to go with Yorkshire Windows.

However that is where is started ended for us, after two visits, several emails and phone calls with us having to chase the company we still do not have what we had paid for. It was a lesson learned and we would not use them again based on our experience.

1) I had to chase the company for definite date for installation 3 days before the provisional date to make sure I was available.
2)On the day of the installation Darren and 2 apprentices arrived and ripped out the old wooden bay window and door. At this point we felt confident to leave them to it, but that was the big mistake. Lucky for us we have a Ring doorbell and that captured an array of bad workmanship, carelessness and dishonesty.

This is what we were left with:
*A broken soffit board from Darren pushing so hard on the wooden window frame it nearly pulled the whole thing down until he realised he need to cut the mastic on the exterior.
*Mastic smeared all up the mint condition brick work, mastic missing from under the sill and just really overly thick mastic for no reason.
*The door interior colour and door hinges were not white but cream, the edge banding on the door was gapping, glue marks across the door from production, the door was very proud of the door frame.
*One trickle vent opened part of the way the other one fully opened.
*The window sill was broken onsite but still installed regardless of this damage and an attempt was made to disguise the damage with mastic.
*The internal caulking was just poor where parts of the trim moved.

All of the above was communicated to their surveyor and he said it is all meant to be like this, he was aggressively defensive even though I was giving them the opportunity to put it right. He attempted to blamed us for not visiting a showroom we never knew existed and the funny thing is not even the online brochure door colour matches what we have. Pictures were sent to the surveyor and we heard nothing, a few weeks later I had to chase the complaint and I was told they were waiting as the manufacturer confirmed the door should not look the way it did. The door was remade and I was told it would be checked over before installation.

4)I later received an email from Darren their operations manager stating what they would correct and a date was booked for second attempt at installing this window and door. On the day of the visit an apology was made however most of the blame appeared to be put on the the apprentices that I was told on the initial visit were fully qualified installers? After the second install "most" of the items were corrected from what we can tell however the door remains a very off white and the only thing that has improved are the fact the hinges are now white.

5)Feedback was send to the installation team and we expressed the door pretty much looked the same but Darrens answer was to paint the walls around the door? In a previous email I had requested to speak with the CEO of Yorkshire Windows and that fell on deaf ears. To this day we have heard nothing from Yorkshire Windows and that demonstrates how little they care about their customers.

Also the Certass certificate only covers your windows and not the door but overall it doesn't mean anything as the company self certificates. We paid the final bill which was nominal compared to what we had already paid because the refurbishment had already been grossly delayed. There is no real complaints procedure and the buck stops with the operations manager. This company is dishonest and that is the biggest sticking point for me.

A huge shame as the office team were good and the window and door itself has made a huge difference in keeping the drafts out. I cannot recommend this company as we still no not have what we had paid for that is the bottom line.

Yorkshire Windows from Hunslet in Leeds have just completed my conservatory and two door replacements.
They’ve done a great job, very professional and clean and tidy. Workmanship and finishing very good and can honestly say I’ve had no problems at all. I’d recommend to anyone

Yorkshire Windows & Conservatories Trade Ltd operating from Union Works,, Leathley Road, Hunslet, Leeds LS10 1BG, installed 2 windows at the front of my home. The windows were installed very well. Unfortunately however, one of the interior window ledges was left without an end piece,leaving a rough, jagged edge. They have been requested to rectify the problem on a number of occasions since, but to no avail. I am left with the view that whilst they are very satisfactory with the product overall, should there be any problem, even a minor one such as mine, then they are very poor when it comes to rectifying it once they have been paid.

Great service from start to finish from all employees of the company. We were given all the information we needed to make an informed decision to buy with Yorkshire Windows.
Very competetive pricing and we were kept fully up to date of the ordering and manufacturing process.
On the day of fitting we were given a time, and our door was fitted to expectations with no problems.We would recommend Yorkshire Windows and will use again!

I was shocked yorkshire windows require comosite doors from third parties.

We chose Yorkshire windows because they were a well established company and presumed a reputable one.

we were quoted from a different company half the price but were told, not by yorkshire windows, but to be careful of the cheaper quote as they could be passing it off as a solid composite door when In fact it could be a cheap imitation.

We then obtained a quote from yorkshire windows and another reputable company for about the same price, but chose Yorkshire windows as their company looked slightly more established and professional. We also thought that we were dealing with Yorkshire windows and receiving their product and was not told otherwise.

Unbeknown to us it looks like we have infact received the cheaper version warned about but we have actually paid twice the price.

The door was fitted and we were really happy with it, we have since had to have them back 3 times for the same repair of a cheap looking draft board end? We have also had to have a glass panel replaced as it was fogging up.

Now after noticing on a photograph we saw a dent in the top of our door. Yes a dent in our supposed top quality solid wood composite door. I mentioned it to the repair man the other day whom couldn't see it, as you can only see it in a certain light, hence us only picking it up on the photograph. The repair man could feel the dent though and said it could have been done pre insulation like I told yorkshire windows on the phone the other day as they were trying to pass me off to a third party to pay for the repair as they said it was done post installation.

Well regardless of the dent being pre or post installation we should not be charged either way as a supposedly solid wood composite door which is supposed to be one of the most secure exterior doors we were told by the sales man should surely not dent.

I have received no replys to emails or phone calls and I am running out of patience with this company. I am thinking of looking to seek further legal assistance with this matter.

Do not use this company !!

About 4 yrs ago had composite door fitted. Since then glass flakes kept falling off so they replaced glass panel but cracked beading in doing so. Door handle now dropped to bits but when contacted have had every excuse under sun, staff left, workman on holiday etc. Think they're trying to run down 10 yr guarantee !

Stay away from this company. If you like shoddy workmanship then these are the guys for you. Terrible customer service, They are never at fault despite them doing the work. Bad plastering, bad electrics and a window sill you could skateboard down it’s so unlevel. The floor space is nothing like we asked for. Rude staff and nothing is completed as requested, it is a constant demand for money even before any work is completed. The work is done as and when they feel like it. A joiner turned up at 2.30pm on a Saturday and the “manager” was upset because we turned the joiner away due to us going on holiday at 4pm. We had their electrician fit all the sockets but he needed 2 long screws to finish the job, he arrived the next day mid afternoon, it took him quite a while just to fit the screws and he had to turn the power off. When he had gone we discovered he had took a large chunk out of the newly plastered wall and the wall lights weren’t working. I got my own electrician in and he informed me the cables hadn’t been connected on the neutral side and I was lucky the earth was still connected or we could have got a jolt. It has all been a farce from the start.

Thank you so much to Yorkshire Windows our house now looks amazing. From the first contact we made to the fitting of the windows this company was very professional. Good quality units and amazing fitters. We are over the moon with the results and would take great pleasure in recommending this company.

We had our roofline, fascias and soffits, replaced recently by Yorkshire Windows. The service was spot on from start to finish. Knowledgeable sales manager, well mannered and tidy installer. The finish makes the house look so much tidier. Can't recommend these guys enough.

We had front and rear composite doors fitted by Yorkshire windows. The doors were well priced and the company communicated well with us. The fitters were very friendly and fitted both doors quickly and made a great job.

Highly recommend Yorkshire windows. We had old wooden windows and doors taken out and replaced with the heritage range windows. Fantastic service from start to finish and kept updated all the way through the process. Finished to a extremely high standard with no need for decorating or anything after, everything let neat and tidy. It’s made the house so much warmer and more secure. Thank you!

Five stars for Yorkshire Windows. In 2021 I hired them to design and install 20 windows and large 5x2.4m sliding aluminium doors on a first floor balcony. I’d spoken to four other window and door companies in Yorkshire but non of them filled me with confidence. Yorkshire Windows did, and I placed the order. Everything from consultation, through the design process, to security advice then the actual supply and fit was top notch. Their staff were polite, friendly and the price was very reasonable. I’d be happy to recommend this company to anyone as a firm you can actually trust.

We had a conservatory built by Yorkshire Windows as well as bi-fold doors fitted earlier this year. I was dubious as to what the work standard and product quality would be as the Yorkshire Windows quote was significantly better than the other well-known companies. Much to my relief they delivered and everything went well. The contractors Yorkshire Windows assigned to our jobs worked like Trojans to complete the work on time. Yorkshire Windows kept me up to date of the various teams that would be working on the different stages of the projects and always responded quickly to my queries. I am one happy customer.

Initially I was pleased with Yorkshire Windows, after my enquiry a sales rep came out to measure up and later sent the quote by email. I replied asking some questions about details of the quote and never received a reply. After around a week I re-sent the email and over the next 3 weeks I sent an enquiry form on their website and phoned the company around half a dozen times and each time I was told the sales rep would call me back but he never did. Disappointing experience and I certainly would not recommend this company.

Booked in for an estimate and the sales person failed to turn up. Gave them a ring and was told I had the wrong day it was the following week. Checked my confirmation email and I had the correct date. I informed them it was their mistake but was told the rep was in Sheffield and there was nothing they could do. Poor service and having now read other reviews they should be avoided at all costs.

I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. They are unprofessional and rude and have no customer service training on any level. They are not interested if you make complaints and do not care about the quality of work they produce or the professionalism of the people they employ. The service was so bad they have now been reported.

Excellent work from Mark Bentley today fixing a leak in my conservatory roof window. Very quick and efficent. Really pleased :-)

Exceptional quality of service from initial sales persons visit to the installation team. truly superb and professional.
We were so pleased we have just ordered a second door from them from the internal sales girls, who again make you feel like a V.I.P.
