The spam with ActBlue URLs just doesn’t stop. HELP!!!
I contributed to various candidates over the course of several years through them.
As of September 2025 or so, I started getting numbers of spam texts with “ActBlue” in the url.
At one point it was up to 8 every single day.
I contacted customer service at ActBlue. They promised me that my name was never provided to any candidates I didn’t specifically donate to.
Now, six months later I am getting up to 10 spam texts from candidates I’ve never heard of, all the with ActBlue in the url. Every single day.
As much as I spend my time deleting and reporting every one, the next day I have ten more. It just doesn’t stop.
I want to sue them for releasing my information to every Democratic candidate.
Any ideas?
Arghhhhh
Typing END and STOP has become a misbegotten aspect of daily life for me ever since naively contributing to the Harris campaign. Today I would like to support Alex Vindman in Florida but Act Blue seems the only way to do so. My $100 is going to stay put rather than contract more digital cooties by donating through Act Phew.
Do not give this organization your…
Do not give this organization your phone number as the endless texting can not be stopped regardless of inputting Stop or End after their texts. Also, I sent an email asking to be removed but they sent me instructions on how to go to their website and remove my info which I did with no success!!’ This has gone on for over a year!!!
Act Blue, CAREIT.JustAnswer SCAM
Act Blue made my donation a recurring one, even though I did NOT indicate it as a recurring monthly donation. Act Blue Customer Service, CareIT.Just Answer, charged me five dollars just to speak to someone about it, stating the $5 could later be refunded, but their IT staff did NOT call me back as promised NOR did they address my issue. A day later, I noticed “CAREIT.JUSTANSWER” had charged my credit card an additional $50 even though they never even called me back to provide any service to address the issue!
ACTBLUE IS AWFUL
Actblue says they do not share your phone number- bullshit. I donated through them and now I am flooded with requests for money- from dog catchers in Maine to city council members in California. Unsubscribing , STOP, doesn't work and too many different numbers to block. This has been going on for 6 years!!!! SERIOUS REGRET USING ACTBLUE!
Fed up with spam
I've made several donations through ActBlue, but after receiving endless unsolicited text messages and emails requesting donations, I deleted my account about 2 years ago. I continue to get spammed with donation requests from various organizations, sometimes up to 5 a day. I don't know if they are still selling my contact info, but the damage is done. There are countless fundraisers so it doesn't matter if you report them as spam or block their numbers. I'm fed up and wish there were a law preventing them from doing so. Sorry to say, I no longer donate to ANY campaigns because of this.
Actblue is a spammer
Actblue is a spammer. Your phone will absolutely blow up if you make even a single donation. And there's nothing you can do about it. They "claim" they don't sell your data but they do. I get dozens of texts per day and no amount of blocking or stopping works.
ActBlue is a scam and a pyramid scheme
ActBlue is a scam and a pyramid scheme. Don't ever make a donation on ActBlue website or your name and phone number will be sold to thousands of fraudulent fundraising schemes. I made a small donation to what I thought was support for a renewable energy bill during Biden. I have been bombarded with thousands of text messages -- about 20 each week. Not only that, but after making the donation, I also started getting those scam calls from India. So these organizations are also affiliated with the scam centers in India. When you response with stop or end, they turn you over to the next scammer. ActBlue is only legitimate in the fact is a money laundering scheme for fake organizations who sell your information and then get a percentage of the people who scam you.
Awful
Awful. They will sell your phone number to everyone.
I made the mistake of supporting what I thought was my Democratic Senator, Mark Kelly. What happened next is an unending stream of spam texts from Dem candidates all over the country. Up to 5 texts per day since I made my contribution.
Act Blue is a Spammer
Act Blue has given my contact information to any Democratic candidate and cause. I deleted my Act Blue account. I stopped giving to Democratic candidates online, because I know Act Blue will give them access to my phone and email for fund raising appeals. They are a degenerate bunch.
Wish I could give these guys negative…
Wish I could give these guys negative stars. Dear Lord, I made such a huge mistake. I don't normally donate to politicians. But these are not normal times, so I donated through Act Blue to several candidates. And then the flood gates opened to release the hounds from hell. I was literally spam bombed; I mean several dozens per day. Asking more and more money, from every candidate running from dog catcher to Senator. From every justice from Maine to California. It took several minutes several times per day just to delete and block all the messages. Well, I learned my lesson. From now on, if I want to donate I will send a check directly to the campaign. Trust me, you do not want to get trapped in the Act Blue net. Unless you are lonely and just want anybody to text you.
Gave to Act Blue; never again.
I have given to Act Blue a few times and afterward, each time, I receive multiple SMS requests asking for more funding. Act Blue gives your personal information away to many others and they all abuse that information. I’ve had to change my phone number to stop it. I’ll vote democrats but I’ll never donate to a democratic fund raising effort again.
Act blue is just a scam
Act blue is just a scam to sell your info and flood you with requests for money from all over the country. I’ll never donate another dime to anyone on act blue. I’m an independent, but I think GOP efforts to shut down actblue are justified. End2End also.
Unwanted spam
I’m getting texts from multiple democratic campaigns that will not stop - several times every day some weeks. Replying “stop” does not seem to help. Contacting Act Blue and even sending them some of the unwanted texts was unhelpful - they claim to have no responsibility for this and are not offering to assist in any way. This started over a year ago after I gave to one or two campaigns through Act Blue.
I will never donate through Act Blue…
I will never donate through Act Blue again. I did not imagine the flood of unwanted texts I would receive from every Democratic candidate in the country. There seems to be no way to stop this torrent, other than by changing a phone number I’ve had for 25 years. The texts are utterly annoying.
ActBlue is not trustworthy
I've been getting SMS spam from the left for years after donating to ActBlue one time.
I'll never donate to another candidate again until the spam stops.
Nice work idiots.
Act blue as a spam generator!
I want to give to dems. BUT, this site sells my info….get “requests” from many actual suspicious places. This is a SPAM GENERATING site!!! I will find a dependable way to contribute. Act Blue needs to respect the donors privacy and data as now it just PUNISHES you for giving!
V disappointed at disclosure of contact info
Prior to this year I was ultra pleased w ActBlue. However this year, like many others,I'm being inundated with donation request from every person running for office in the US. Again, like many others I assume Act Blue disclosed my information. The volume of donation request I get is maddening. It has not endeared me to act blue.
So easy - can donate safely by phone
They make it easy to donate quickly to a current cause. Also can do recurring donations, straightforward phone interface. Their customer service helped me reverse a charge when I added an extra zero by mistake. Do wish you could request that your email isn't used by other campaigns.
It's what we got
I've used ActBlue for the last few election cycles to support candidates and causes. Overall, it is a transparent and easy-to-use platform. While this may be beyond ActBlue, I am exhausted by the constant texts and emails from random campaigns that my donations have opened me up to. This onslaught has severely limited my enthusiasm to continue donating to political causes. ActBlue must clamp down on this constant abuse of the donor base (say, deny access to bad actors or require a code of conduct) because some blatant grifters are using this platform. For what it is worth, I will *NEVER* donate to any campaign that sends me an unsolicited text. Granted, this problem is nothing like the abuse seen on other platforms (WinRed), but it is a growing problem that must be addressed.
