Act Blue is a powerful tool in my political activism.
I use Act Blue to keep track of how I am allocating my political donations, and to make contributions to candidates. Through Act Blue, I can get early money to new candidates to help jump start campaigns, send support to candidates & elected officials taking a courageous stand and help build my local Democratic party. Recently, candidates & my local party have used Act Blue to make reservations for events, like our annual fall barbeque, which is very convenient.
SPAM
SPAM
ActBlue either shares my information with campaigns and PACs to which I do not donate, or allows donees to do so. And I get multiple messages from them daily, including PACs that I suspect of being "false flags". I am reluctant to "unsubscribe" from campaigns I may later support, but I will have to do so from now on.
I donated once
I donated once. Then they sent a form that I did NOT fill out but, they charged me for two donations. I will NOT ever donate again.
Do better ActBlue!
I was very happy to support my favorite candidate, and I did so on multiple occasions. Much to my dissapointment, however, ActBlue shared my contact information, and I began to receive emails from many candidates that weren't even in my state.
If the candidates had only been in my state that would have been understandable, but I receive emails from all of the country.
Apparently there is no way to get out of this except to unsubscribe one by one. Considering how many candidates there are at any given time, I suppose it could be a number of years before I finally stop receiving the emails.
Lack of Transparency and Respect for Donors
While ActBlue provides a streamlined donation process and has been effective in facilitating small-donor contributions, my overall experience has been disappointing. After making a contribution, I immediately began receiving a flood of emails and text solicitations from numerous campaigns and organizations I had never engaged with directly. This excessive outreach strongly suggests that donor information is widely shared without sufficient transparency or consent.
Additionally, ActBlue requires donors to provide their employer information, presenting it as a potential pathway to “matching donations.” In practice, this requirement feels intrusive and misleading, and it raises concerns about how this information is stored and used.
Although the technical side of the platform is user-friendly, the aggressive communication practices and questionable data-collection policies outweigh the positives. Donors deserve clearer opt-in options, stronger privacy protections, and a platform that respects boundaries.
ActBlue could significantly improve donor trust by ensuring strict opt-in for communication, limiting the sharing of donor information, and eliminating unnecessary requirements such as employer disclosure unless it is directly tied to a legitimate matching program.
Disclosue of private information
Not a day goes by when I don't receive a spam text from some random democratic candidate I have never heard of. When I made donations through ActBlue, I asked them not to release my phone number. They did anyway and now I am in the horrific nexus of constant spam. I've been quite active in supporting democratic candidates. I've done my part. But, none of these candidates seem intent on respecting my privacy or federal spam laws. I'm done with you ActBlue. DONE.
CANCEL ANY REPEAT CONTRIBUTIONS - Now, please
I wanted a negative number, but can't get one. My 'one time' contributions seem to be a scam and money leaves my account randomly...with no indication of what that particular donation was. I WANT OUT! and I want it now - I wish I would believe that you would actually do it. I have been asking off and on for a year...I feel that I no longer can donate because you greedy fools suddenly repeat one.
Do not donate through this platform!!!
If you are wanting to make a contribution to a candidate or cause, please find another way to donate. You will regret giving this platform your contact information. I am inundated with texts and emails and have resorted to marking everything as junk. Customer service offered no help either.

The site shares my personal data with every candidate in the Dem party, and even if you unsubscribe, candidates keep coming to beg for money over and over again from every corner of the country -- which is why I will never donate again.

ActBlue is a terribly annoying organization.
I now feel that I need to disengage from politics and never give money to any Democratic candidate
Please stop sending so much spam! Your organization makes me want to “make America great again”
Please stop sending emails to us who support the candidates of our choice
I’d give them a zero
I’d give them a zero, but it’s not an option.
I’ve donated to a few candidates, but Actblue thinks I want to donate to EVERY candidate they support.
I swat away text messages night and day from people I have no interest in.
Those I do, I will donate.
Guess they think that flood the country with solicitations they bring in money from unsuspecting people
Act blue and dems need to focus on the lower income and younger
Act blue and the Democratic Party has the wrong strategy to replace incumbent house and senators. The goal is to flip GOP. So I have stopped contributing until a better strategy and goals are in place. We need to be focused on those citizens in the lower income bucket and meeting their needs. The money is wasted trying to replace through primaries the existing house and senate incumbents.
I didn’t sign up for these text
I didn’t sign up for these text, I can’t take my number off and you send me 22+ junk text messages a day. I am now voting republican bc you are annoying. Thanks
ActBlue=Disfunctional, Unethical, Supremely Poor!
ActBlue, over the last five years, has held on to personal information which I explicitly said was not to be held and are still doing so, had associates who, three years ago, tried to blackmail me into leaving a tip equal to a $150.00 donation I made, and when I informed Act Blue of this event and presented proof, the organization couldn’t be bothered to respond to me until the following year with a non-answer and frank dismissal.
In addition, has, several times, made my one time only donations reoccuring and over these last three to four months, continues to use a closed credit card when I keep entering the new credit card to the point that my bank of thirty-five years has lost patience with me!
I always choose another venue to donate when one is offered and have gone so far as to research candidates’ local campaign headquarters and sent checks there with my donation because Act Blue is so poorly run, disaffected and couldn’t care less about the donors using its site.
But with the Dem organizations that are fund raising to beat the Republicans mid-term and kick Trump out of office, I can only donate to their campaigns with Act Blue and it makes me sick!
I am a very generous donor to a cause I am fervent about and find it loathesome that my money is filtered through such a failure of an agency and they make a 3% profit! Paying for incompetance!!!
FIVE YEARS of UNAACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE!
Screw Act Blue!
I have had no issues with this group
I have had no issues with this group. I will continue to support Democratic principles and candidates through ActBlue and individual donations to local Democratic candidates. We must put Democrats back in office, I have not had one bad experience over the past nine months with with my reoccurring donations nor any type of refund.
Don't dare give Act-Blue your phone number
I donated to the Harris-Walz campaign and other key democratic races through act blue. Now I’m being harassed receiving at least 3 texts a day from democrats all over the country. I reply STOP to all.
I have started to file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and the Do Not Call registry. The national donotcall.gov registry applies also to texts.

Do not use act-blue they sell your information to every democrat,, and liberal group out there. No matter how many times you block their emails; they just keep coming and coming and coming. I gave once in January 2017, and have now been emailed a few hundred times asking me to donate to every wack job liberal out there. Sign me up for any class action lawsuit against them please.

Es ist mir ein Rätsel, wie ich das ganze stoppe, hier in Deutschland lebend und mit Kreditkarte einmal spenden wollen. Lassen Sie die Hände weg von AdBlue!
