Great Experience
Overall a great experience with this company and the subsequent installation of Panels and Batteries which from arrival on site to finish only took around 5.5hrs. There were 3 roofers who were excellent and exceptionally tidy in their work. There were also 2 electricians who likewise were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient in their work. There was some differences between the installations method adopted and the initial information provided by David as to what would happen so perhaps some joined up communication between them would help avoid confusion for the customer as they said this was not unusual! I have no issues with the system which appears to be working well as I await relevant certifications and approvals to arrive which I am confident will be fine. I would recommend this company to anyone considering an installation.

This company fitted my solar panels and…
This company fitted my solar panels and batteries just over a year ago, I called them recently and asked them to move the panels further up the roof only to be told they don’t do small jobs like that, even though they fitted the panels.
Basically not a great company for after sales help
Personally I wouldn’t use them again

Buyer Beware (Resolved)
I called to cancel my order/contract on 18/02/2026 within my 14 day cooling off period. I followed this with an email on the same day. I then called again on 20/02/2026 to check they had received my email and when I could expect my refund. During this call I was told that I'd receive payment into my bank account by close of business that day, no payment was received. I then queried this again by email on 24/02/2026 to which I received no reply. Another phone was made on 26/02/2026 in which I received another assurance that I would receive payment by close of business that day, once again nothing received. The above has what promoted this review in the hope that others will know what they may expect from this company.
I'll now have to consider my options, either through Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act or the Small Claims Court.
Now resolved. I received a phone call from the company owner who explained their office procedures and that I had been given wrong information regarding timescales.
Review rating ammended to reflect the owners response & quick resolution of the problem.

First class service from A J renewables
First class service Kyle was on the roof fitting the panels with his mate and no issues with either of them. Brad was the electrician and he was very helpful explaining at every step, he did have some issues with the app as he had been given the wrong password for access once that was resolved it was plain sailing. A very pleasant experience having my solar system installed.

I have solar system almost 3 years
I have solar system almost 3 years, my inverter stoped working, phone them they promised to send an engineer three separate times, to look at it, no one shows up. ( I stayed home and waited for someone to show up) System not working over 2 months, each call is promised to look at it, to help me to resolve it. Nothing happened.
Worst warranty service. They are blaming growatt to be slow, what isn’t tru. Keep lying that need to wait for Growat to get back.
If you want pay for system without a warranty then go for this company, otherwise I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT.

Your system is protected under a manufacturer-backed warranty, and we have already escalated your case to their technical team on multiple occasions. As installers, we don’t have direct authority to repair or replace internal battery components without manufacturer approval.
That said, we are continuing to chase this on your behalf and won’t stop until we have a clear resolution. We are very keen to get this resolved.

Terrible Experience
I am afraid to report my parents and I have had a TERRIBLE experience with this company and it’s time it was made public. We have had a complaint rumbling on with them since Jan this year (2025) which has been escalated to their overseeing body – the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) and to their adjudicator, the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). CEDR have upheld the complaint as it contravenes RECC, the MCS code and in part AJ’s own contract, all in various ways.
AJ have been ordered to pay compensation of almost all the cost of the battery. However as suspected they have categorically failed to do this so we are having to take it to the next level. The company cannot keep getting away with this, people need to be made aware. An awful experience we would not like anyone else to have to suffer.

Thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that this was a difficult and prolonged situation, and we understand the frustration it caused at the time.
For clarity and for the record, this installation took place in 2024, and the battery system itself was installed correctly, worked as intended, and continues to operate properly. The matter raised was not related to system performance.
Following the adjudication process, the customer chose to retain the battery system and recover part funds, and the case has since been formally concluded and settled. The outcome was complied with, and the matter is now closed.
While we regret that the overall experience did not meet expectations, we have reviewed the circumstances carefully and made improvements to our internal processes to help prevent similar situations in the future.
We remain committed to delivering high-quality installations and supporting our customers responsibly when issues arise.

Great Solar System
Well explained from start to finish. David took the time and listened to what we wanted. AJ Renewables then tailored a system for us. The guys had it up and running in one day and I have to say, I wish I had done it ages ago.

Whole installation was very well managed
Whole installation process was very well managed, with the different teams all doing their jobs in parallel. Declan and Kieran did an excellent job in both fitting and setting up the electrical items and helped get the app up and running. The guys in the back office too did a great job in supporting all of the installation as we had an issue with the order that arrived onsite - all resolved within a few hours so the work could continue and complete as scheduled. I had a couple of queries and they were quickly addressed and answered. Thanks to all involved!

Your installers were very good and…
Your installers were very good and polite. They adhered to the house rules regarding the cat. They were tidy.
Your sales representative was polite volunteering information when asked. Not pushy.
Your engineer was polite and contactable.
All arrived approx. on time.
Communication with your office was surprisingly good. There was a problem with the choice method of payment but that was resolved amicable with open discussion.

The battery did not come fully charged 😒 there maybe a good reason for this, but as it has been very cloudy the past couple of days the battery has only got to 30% ,but we will see how it goes
The electrician was very informative and explained everything in detail, the instillation was quick and the lads kept everything tidy

It’s normal for batteries to arrive partially charged from the manufacturer rather than fully charged. This is done to protect the battery during storage and transport. Once installed, the battery will gradually charge through solar generation or the grid depending on conditions and settings. As you mentioned, the recent cloudy weather can slow that initial charge.
We’re really pleased to hear the electrician explained everything clearly and that the installation was carried out quickly and tidily. We’ll be sure to pass your comments on to the team.
