Installation review
After the initial sales talk and my decision to go ahead I was kept in touch. The date and time for the installation was adhered to. The men doing the job were helpful and got on with it. Phone communications were not easy to follow due to background noise in the office.

Just had 9 panels and a second Growatt…
Just had 9 panels and a second Growatt 6.5kwh battery fitted to an existing system.
AJ renewables were as close to perfect as I could ask for. Complete opposite to the cowboys that fitted the original system.
They removed what was wrong with the original system and relocated the inverter along with original battery and added a second battery.
Guys installing the panels took really good care of my fibreglass roof as the new panels were being installed on pods.
Electricians were clean, neat and respectful of my home.
There was a slight issue with them being 1 panel short on delivery day but nothing was a hassle as they had that installed the very next morning.
Having new added to a 3 year old system caused a slight problem but they didn’t leave my property until everything was resolved and now my entire home pretty much runs almost grid free.
Absolutely brilliant service.
Ok I’m starting to sound like a paid advertisement but I’m just being honest as it was such a relief having a competent, knowledgeable company rather than the idiots I’ve had in the past.
Absolutely no hesitation in recommending these guys.

Adding new equipment to an existing installation can sometimes throw up challenges, so it’s great to know the team stayed on site and made sure everything was resolved properly before leaving.
It’s also reassuring to hear the care taken with your fibreglass roof, the tidy and respectful approach from the electricians, and how quickly the missing panel was sorted. That level of attention and follow-through is exactly what we aim for.

Overall experience was very good
Was looking to get a battery system fitted and had a local company (iprotec) round for a site visit but left me even more confused than when I first started, I called them back and asked to deal with another one of their sales team who said he would sort it out and get back to me and I’m still waiting so looked on google and AJ Renewables came up so I thought I’d get a quote. Everything was done over the phone, explained in detail and all my questions answered sufficiently and the guys who came and fitted the system were sub contracted to do the job but couldn’t have asked for a better pair of guys, as well as doing a professional job they also helped me set up the app to track what the battery was doing and set up the 12 year warranty.
Only way I’m not giving AJ Renewables 5 stars is I found Lee, the salesman a bit pushy on his sales tactics, he was looking for a sale straight away but I explained that wanted to double check with my fit provider first to make sure this didn’t affect the feed in tariff as the previous company that came thought it would but before I got the reply I wanted Lee was back on the phone pushing me for a deposit and an install date.
Everything was fine in the end and AJ Renewables quoted me over £1000 less than the other quote I received.
So overall very pleased with them but in future please allow your future potential customers time to make decisions without feeling pressured. On the plus side for Lee, I did ask him to send me the Schematics so I could forward that onto the FIT provider and he did that with no hesitation.

Better than all the rest
Our first contact was David who came to do a survey of our existing solar panels and inverter and explained in detail what Aj Renewables would supply and what the cost would be. We accepted the fixed price quote and we were given an installation date and time when to expect the installers. Our installers were John and Duncan who carried out the installation very efficiently and on completion explained how to install the GivEnergy app and how to use it. John also made sure the 12 year warranty was validated on the app. Both John and Duncan were polite and friendly whilst working and .tidied up on completion.Having the knowledge that I can contact Aj Renewables for help and guidance when I need it I would have no hesitation recommending this company to anyone thinking of installing a solar and battery storage system.

Quick and easy
The installers came, introduced themselves and had a quick look at the current system. They made preparations in the van and then started the internal work.
While this was going on, one of them helped me to setup the account to be able to monitor the system online.
After the installation was completed and updates had been run, they have me a quick walkthrough of the app and the website. They showed the installation and how to move the battery if required.
All completed before lunch time.

Good product, poor experience
Install was quick and smooth, even managed to bring our install date forward due to a cancellation. Scaffolders arrived late in afternoon the day before installation and were working into the evening causing some noise disturbance during my kid's bed time. The installation engineers on site were friendly and professional however, the roofers left the newly installed solar panels dusty. Would have been nice after we spent thousands of pounds to have the installers take a few extra minutes making sure it was all cleaned up. Have called and emailed several times asking for scaffolding to be taking down, it's still up 2 weeks after install. Still haven't received the handover pack with MCS certificate and schematics so I can't set up an export tariff. Currently exported £16 wort of electricity back to the grid but won't get paid due to AJ Renewables' slow/poor admin. When you are spending such a large sum you don't expect to be inconvenienced for 2 weeks unable to use outdoor space because of scaffolding and for the admin side to be so inefficient. Once they've got your money and done the install they don't seem as interested in tidying up the loose ends. Disappointing for the price paid.

Firstly, we're glad the installation itself went smoothly and that we were able to bring your date forward. We appreciate your kind words about our installers on the day – they’ll be pleased to hear that.
Regarding the scaffolding, we completely understand your frustration. While we do contract this out to local scaffolding companies, it’s still our responsibility to ensure it’s removed promptly. We’ve passed your feedback directly to them and will continue working to improve coordination going forward.
We also appreciate you raising the concern about the panels being dusty. It’s not something we’ve heard before – normally, a good bit of Scottish rain handles any leftover dust! That said, we completely take your point, and we'll make sure this is looked at more closely in future installations.
As for your MCS handover pack, it was sent out the same day you posted this review – and we’re truly sorry for the delay. One of our operations administrators recently left the team, which did leave us stretched during an unusually busy period. That’s not an excuse, just some context – and we’ve now got everything back on track and systems in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
It’s never easy to hear when someone has had a disappointing experience with us, especially after making a significant investment. We’re genuinely sorry for letting you down and will take this as a valuable opportunity to improve. Our Director did try to reach out to you on the day you left a review without success, If you would like to raise any concerns with our Director directly, we would love to have a chat.

Fantastic service
Fantastic service. Simple to arrange appointments. All times kept to. My panels were fitted on the day they said they would. They work well. We did have a fault with them. That was repaired within 3 days of the call to them. They work perfectly now.

Trustworthy company
The company were very knowledgeable on the products and everyone I spoke to was friendly. Fraser made an in-person appointment with us to talk us through our options and provided a tailored quote, which was adjustable as we explored our options over the next few weeks. We massively appreciated Fraser answering all of our questions! We then provided a technical visit to plan the location of the panels, invertor and battery where photos were taken. Kieran was the efficient electrician who did a great job fitting all the wiring - managing to lift our carpet and put it back with minimal damage. He also talked us through the new app we could use to track our energy generation when it was all up and running. Despite the frost we had in the morning, all 12 panels were fitted in one day! A noisy process, but that is to be expected. The scaffolding (which was put up the day before) was only taken down once we had confirmed everything was working properly and paid the remaining balance. We didn't have any issues and were delighted to see some generation immediately - despite it being February.
The only issue was the delay in the sending of our payment receipts and the final paperwork to allow us to update our energy supplier and insurance company. I hope this was only due to the company being busy - as they span a large area.
Overall, a great service and I would recommend to others.

Extra battery added tony system
I was having an extra battery added to my system.
What can I say? The engineer arrived on time. He was polite and friendly. He got on with the job, which was done in half an hour. He left no mess and explained exactly what he had done.
I cpuld not have asked for any more.

Great job.
Really great service from start to finish. Fantastic job fitting the solar panels. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy. It was no issue for them to come and sort out an issue with a delivery, which was not the fault of Aj renewables. Would definitely recommend them for solar panels.
