I had been wanting to get a battery but the £10k+ price I was quoted previously put me off. When I Recieved a call from A J Renewables in January I dismissed the idea of getting someone from the company out to talk about the pros of a battery. I said the price I was quoted previously from other companies was way over my budget. When I was told it was nowhere near 10k and was just under 50% less I was interested.
Best decision I ever made!!!
The savings on Electricity (50%-70% for me) are unbelievable like I was told they would be by the rep who came to see me. From initial appointment to installation it took just over a week. It took 6hrs to install the battery and was done efficiently. You are given an App on your phone to monitor the battery storage, the electricity usage etc and is a good tool to have. IF you are thinking about it and can afford it DO IT. Get in touch with A J Renewables and get a quote. You won't regret it.

Once G99 sorted installion then went well. Would be happy to use them again. Will take some time to sort out best use for the system

Like a lot of the Solar companies I've spoken to, the sales guy was full of promises. However, unlike other companies, AJ Renewables followed up with great staff, quick and tidy installation and fast responses to email questions. There was an unfortunate issue with the 3rd party scaffolder, but they Solar Panel installers waited around all day, then rescheduled another job so they could finish the day after. Everything worked first time, and I've been glued to my solar generation graphs every since. Thanks to Kelly in the office especially for puting my mind at ease.

I bought a storage battery and invertor. Great sales pitch, based on using a local company, which appealed. Good equipment, installers worked well and promised to complete configuration of invertor once our off-peak electricity tariff was in place. No follow up untill I hounded them, when eventually a young inexperienced technician attempted configuration. I called 1 - 2 times a day for weeks with no returned call. Eventually equipment manufacturer informed me the installation was done wrong, no loops, wrong cable, causing my frequent alarms issue. Oh, and they were cheaper for subsequent additional batteries, with great follow up support. Unless you are expert at use of batteries etc. , dont expect any support from AJR.

On 15th November 2023 I signed a contract, and paid a large deposit to purchase a Solar Battery Storage System from A.J.Renewables. It was arranged that installation would commence between 08.00am and 12.00pm on Friday 24th November 2023. I was told that in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations two persons would arrive to carry out the work. Nobody arrived on Friday 24th November 2023 during the time period agree for the work to start. Eventually a person arrived in the late afternoon but was too late to commence any work. Because there was only one person I was concerned that Health an Safety Regulations would no be complied with.
The person left two unopened boxes of components and agreed they would return on Monday 27th November 2023 at 08.30am to carry out the work. On Monday 27th November 2023 nobody arrived at 08.30am. Eventually, at 10.00am I received a telephone call which informed that somebody would arrive an hour later.
Because of the poor service I had so far received I decided to cancel my contract and made a telephone call to A.J.Renewables to that effect. I completed the Contract Cancellation Form and posted it to the company. A person eventually arrived during the late morning and I informed them of my decision to cancel the contract. However, this person already knew the contract had been cancelled and had come to recover the two unopened boxes of components.
Paragraph 13.4.1 of the contract terms states that: "Should you decide to cancel the contract within the 14 day cancellation period (see clause 9) we will return that deposit in full".
I cancelled my contract within the 14 day cancellation period but my £300.00 deposit has not been returned. My credit card statement shows that my £300.00 was paid to A.J.Fire Protection And Electricals rather than A.J.Renewables. These two companies share the same postal address. I did not agree to pay A.J.Fire Protection And Electricals £300.00.
I have sent three letters to A.J.Renewables but have not received a written reply, e-mail or telephone call in response to any of them.
It would seem I need to take legal action in order to recoup my deposit.

Following a cold call the rep arrived and after checking our solar panel set up gave us a quote to install a battery system .
The installers arrived as promised and after installing the equipment they tested our input power voltage which they said was too high for their equipment .
They arrived the next day and installed a voltage optimiser but they found another problem which prevented them commissioning the equipment. Our solar panels had 3 strings going into our invertor and the equipment could only cope with two. They left saying hat someone would be in touch.
Days passed and we heard nothing so my husband phoned and he asked if it would be possible to connect the strings in parallel rather than series. They said they would look into this but again we heard nothing.
Another phone call was made and we were told that guys would come the following week to change the strings on our solar panels and they were sent a photo of our panels and roof.
When the guys arrived they said that it would not be possible to do the work on the roof without scaffolding. We had wondered about this but as they had a photo of the panels and roof we assumed they knew what they were doing.
The guys left saying someone would be in touch and we await that call.
Annoying as all this has been - and we have had no solar generated power now for several weeks and the sun has shone - we feel that the two problems should have been picked up at the initial visit instead of only being found out well down the line.
Perhaps the best solution would be for all the equipment to be removed and our invertor reinstalled - assuming they still have it.
Five days later!
The company pulled out all the stops and got scaffolders to erect scaffold so that the guys could complete the job - on a wet Saturday morning.
The system is now up and running and we look forward to a reduction in our electricity bills.
While we are grateful that we will not be charged extra for the extra work which was required we still feel that the problems should have been recognised at the first visit.
Through out this saga, we have found all the staff to be helpful, pleasant and courteous and it was a pleasure to have them here. We would have no problem recommending the company to others.
When my husband saw the addition to my original post he said I should include the fact that the company went for the best solution, not the cheapest and he suggested 5 stars! I am happy with that.

Superb experience from AJ renewables from start to finish. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Would totally recommend.

Originally found advert on Facebook and got 2 other companies to quote, very easy process to go through.

The team arrived on the agreed day, the electrician 1st and then the team installed the panels. Be prepared for a little noise as they cabled from the battery in the loft to the main fuse box. They did worn me which was.

All done in a day with no power outage. Currently on day 2 and looks like we will be able to run off the solar power which is positive, will see on a cloudy day.

All in all an easy exercise to deal with AJ Renewables.

The installation process was very efficient and completed in one day (10 panels on 2 story house and 2 batteries).

Work was completed to a high standard with a neat finish. On completion, the system operation was explained to me as well as how to monitor via the app.

From initial ‘phone call introducing themselves (and I never ‘go with’ cold calls) to their electrical engineers visit (no, not a salesman and never a scent of trying to sell) where everything was explained very simply we went ahead and ordered. They fitted in with our schedule for figment and it was all done very efficiently and cleanly. Again no pressure to add batteries - “see how you get on and we can retro fit more if you wish”. This was a very personal service with excellent customer care. The service provider will monitor the performance of the new installation. I think that is excellent. The installers were efficient and worked well under difficult conditions. Their interpersonal skills were impressive. The operation of the new equipment was clearly explained to me.

This company supplied and fitted panels, battery and all required cables. The guys that fitted them work hard during difficult weather but fitted the panels. The app they suggested is very easy to use and shows all the information. I’m now waiting for a quote to fit a second battery. Would highly recommend A J Renewables.

We had some early fears as the initial survey was carried out via google maps by Lee, who was very helpful.

We asked for a phone consultation as we didnt want any unexpected issues on the day. Lee booked a consultation appointment for us and Jordan phoned at the agreed time. Jordan addressed all our questions and we decided to changed the type and location of the batteries and inverter so they could be installed outside. He replied swifly to a couple of text queries also. We discussed potential internet problems as we have a granite house and have internet issues.

The friendly team turned up exactly on time and worked incredibly hard to get it all done in 5 hours. There was an initial problem with connectivity but this was all sorted out efficiently. No mess, no fuss, and really nice guys. Neat and tidy looking work.

Shaun patiently explained how to work the app and answered all our questions. He made sure we understood it all before leaving.

We are delighted with the installation, and can't wait for the sun to reappear!

Recently A J Renewables installed solar panels and a battery system in my house and throughout I found them a very good company to work with.
There was a considerable delay in my obtaining planning permission for the work and A J Renewables were understanding and patient. Once permission was granted, the work was done without delay, all completed in one day.
The materials for the work were delivered when they had said, the men worked very well and tidied everything up before leaving.
I found communication with the firm was easy and any queries were answered without delay.

Friendly, helpful, knowledgable company who were on time and completed an excellent job.
