We purchased our new-build home from Allison Homes expecting a quality property and a professional aftercare service. Unfortunately, our experience has been the complete opposite.

Since moving into our property, we have experienced defects affecting virtually every area of the house, including bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, utility room, garage and external areas. These ranged from poor decorating, damaged joinery and faulty fixtures through to more serious concerns involving the boiler and drainage system.

The most alarming issue was discovering that the rainwater drainage pipe serving the garage terminated after approximately one metre and was not connected to the wider drainage network. This defect should never have passed inspection and raised serious concerns about the build quality and quality assurance processes applied to the property.

Over the past 7 months we have endured countless contractor visits, repeated snagging appointments and numerous occasions where remedial works created further defects. Examples include paint left in the bath, paint on metal door frames, incorrectly cut replacement shelving, garage trims repeatedly falling off and a recently repaired kitchen hob being reinstalled visibly out of alignment.

Even now, further defects continue to emerge, including a leak through the utility room ceiling and visible plasterboard joints across the lounge ceiling.

What is most disappointing is Allison Homes' response to our formal complaint. Whilst they acknowledged our concerns, they declined to undertake any wider investigation into drainage, plumbing or the building fabric despite the significant defect history experienced at the property. They also refused to offer any compensation whatsoever for the considerable inconvenience, disruption and stress caused, citing company policy.

The response essentially amounted to, "if something else goes wrong during the warranty period, let us know and we'll look at it then."

As homeowners we have spent an enormous amount of time documenting defects, chasing updates, arranging access for contractors and managing repairs that should not have been necessary in a new-build home. The level of disruption experienced has been far beyond what any purchaser should reasonably expect.

Whilst some snagging is normal in any new build, the volume, severity and ongoing nature of the issues we have encountered suggest deeper concerns regarding workmanship, quality control and aftercare management.

Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage prospective buyers to carefully research Allison Homes' build quality and aftercare service before committing to a purchase.

Whilst I love my house the quality of workmanship has in many areas been abysmal. The plumbing was not installed professionally, indeed the waste outlet was higher than the drain (but water cannot flow uphill), this caused the downstairs to be flooded. The two zone central heating was incorrectly wired causing one zone to be freezing and the other to be sweltering. Guttering had screws in at clip fit joints causing leaks all down the walls. The supplied induction hob had to be removed last minute because the electrical rating was not up to the job. The kitchen cupboards all blistered. And as well as many other issues the external roof edging has not been professionally fitted meaning that it has fallen off.
Unfortunately, the provided LABC 'Warranty' is not fit for purpose. It was sold as a warranty but is nothing more than a very poor insurance policy, for which I the housebuyer have to pay an excess to put right Larkfleet / Allison Homes shoddy work.

I visited Allison homes and met with Leanne Hobbs a few weeks ago. Leanne was super helpful, very knowledgeable and explained everything with great care. She is a lovely lady and goes above and beyond.
I have also met her on a previous occasion with another company and she gave first class service there as well.

We had a fantastic experience this morning with Lianne Hobbs she was so helpful, she walked us round the site explained everything to us about the new houses . We would highly recommend.

We moved in a few months ago and have had some very minor snagging issues , we contacted Wayne who came over straight away each time , he was very professional, helpful and sorted all our issues each time , no problem was too big and us being happy in our new home seemed his main aim , he’s a credit and asset to your company , big thanks

Popped in Friday 10th without arranging, currently we are browsing for a new property, Vicki and Charlotte understood our situation and why we are moving, both were more than happy to show us around on what was an extremely hot and I’m sure a tiring day for them.

I left with plenty of information on the different styles of properties, cost and layout of the site, and although the site is still in the initial building phase- you got a good feel for how the site and properties are built.

I’ve looked online and Allison homes gets a good build quality review, we look forward to a further visit and hey we might be purchasing depending on factors.

Steve and Wayne at Venus Fields have been absolutely superb. I cannot thank them enough for ensuring any issues found are resolved in a timely manner. These guys deserve some serious recognition from the senior management team.

We approached Allison Homes about purchasing a bungalow in the future at Frampton. Roxy was very helpful and informative, she even encouraged us to walk around the area a talk to those that have already bought and moved in, which we did. If your not sure about purchasing new just go and speak with Roxy and she'll help you with everything you need to know.

I had a fantastic week completing my work experience at Allison Homes. Everyone made me feel incredibly welcome from day one, and I learned so much about the business and what it's like to work in Customer Care.

A special thank you to Courtney Goodwin, Ryan Burcham, Sara Thomas, and Laura Newton for being so welcoming, supportive, and always willing to answer my questions. Their guidance and encouragement made my experience both enjoyable and valuable.

I have come away with a much better understanding of the industry, developed new skills, and gained confidence in a professional workplace. I really appreciate the opportunity and would highly recommend Allison Homes as a great place to work and learn.
