I was having difficulty in communicating with CHEC due to impaired hearing and limited IT skills. This problem has now been overcome thanks to the understanding and effort of Robin Inglis, to whom I am most grateful.

I was having problems with my right eye and needed to rearrange an appointment because of headaches Sally was very sympathetic and arranged an earlier appointment without a problem, for which I am very grateful

Emily was very helpful, easy to understand and answered all my questions.

The experience of trying to sort out issue on WhatsApp was frustrating and it took a human being to understand my situation. After two 30 minute attempts to speak to someone, I got through to someone who was really understanding and helpful.

Nicola contacted me today, regarding some results that I hadn’t received from a previous appointment. Nicola was able to give me the results, and referred me to the hospital for more tests. I was given a full and comprehensive check on my eyes, in readiness for cataract surgery. I then spoke to the consultant who explained that I could not have the surgery until more than 3 months had elapsed from my pacemaker surgery on 26th June 2026. My left eye surgery has now been booked for 29th October 2026.

I am profoundly deaf and feel very uncomfotable using the phone, eventually CHEC managed to make an appointment for me, though I needed to be very clear as to why I could not access this myself. The response time was immediate and clear.

The clinic was busy on the morning of my Assessment but the receptionist was welcoming and encouraging and at the beginning as well as after I had been seen, explained the process clearly. There was a bit of a delay from my appointment time but the important thing for me was the kindness and opportunity for discussion about my eye surgery which was offered. Later, when I needed to telephone to request a change of date for my surgery, Lucy Phair was really helpful and efficient so that I didn't feel uncomfortable about having the problem.
