Console Trade In Avis 

Submitted on the website, and didn't receive an email confirmation straight away, which caused a little concern - I did check my spam folder. Checked the reviews here, which were mixed, but noticed the pattern seemed to be complaints about the price offered, rather than the actual service, which reassured me somewhat. (With a free return if you don't like the offered price, this seemed an odd complaint to make, especially as all courier costs and packaging are included, but that's just my opinion!)

Sure enough I then received an email a few days later confirming collection. Courier arrived with a crate, into which I loaded the Playstation, which was so much easier than having to package it myself. Received an email confirming receipt, and then another email a few days later confirming the price was as originally quoted for a B grade item. Another couple of days later the money was in my account.

So all in all an excellent experience, apart from the lack of an email confirming the initial request. Price seemed competitive compared to other services, especially taking into account the fact you don't need to package or pay for shipping, and there's a free return if you don't like their offer. Will definitely be using again.

I sent them a virtual headset which I categorised as an 'A' grade. Because of their vague grading system and a slight 1/4 inch scratch they downgraded it from A to C and offered me £60 less.

I emailed and asked if they didn't think it was at least a B grade but they were adamant that they couldn't offer me any more.

I accepted the offer to avoid all the hassle of returning it to me. I wish I'd asked them to send it back now.

The next time I have anything to sell I shall go to one of the big companies. They might offer less to begin with but at least their grading systems are more rigorous and flexible.

I wanted to sell my oculus rift s VR headset which was brand new and never been used. I chose macback as they were offering the highest price I had seen which was £180. The send off of the product was very easy and they got back to me with my second quote pretty fast. They wanted to reduce the payment to £153 as the “controller was worn” and “needs replacing. As I know the product has never been used and that the maximum amount of time the controller had been switched on was about 5 minutes I knew that this had to be wrong. Therefore I replied to the email asking the engineer to check the quality again but they refused to check for a second time and insisted that there was wear on the controller. I know that there was no wear on that controller obviously they just wanted a better deal but as I needed the money I had to accept the revised offer. This was very disappointing as they blatantly lied on their website saying I would receive £180 when in fact I received £153.

Amazing service and amazing team!! Traded in my switch and the service was great. Highly recommend.

I traded in my PS4 after updating to the 5, the process was simple and they gave me a better quote than CEX / Game. Would definitely use them again when I trade in another console in the future

In a time when you have companies giving £600 cash for 2nd hand PS5's, you have these quoting me £210.

Update to reply: Dear Console Trade In, I have used your service to obtain a quote as has been shown by the fact my review is now verified - I just chose not to accept what was offered.

When using your service I was quoted £210 back in December and £210 again yesterday for a Grade A & boxed PS5 (this second quote was needed as evidence of the price you were offering after my review was flagged for not being genuine).

The value you provide customers is the most important part of the service you offer, and even at the new brand new £310 quote for a Grade A boxed PS5 (+ free collection), it is still vastly less than value than other companies with up to £550 now being quoted for Grade A & boxed PS5's.

I did not provide you any such reference number, my proof was sent directly to Trustpilot including a direct link to your quote page where they could verify themselves.

I clearly said I did not accept the quote offered due to it being poor value in my opinion. I used your service to obtain that quote – service is from start to finish and includes the value of the service offered (trading my PS5 for cash in this instance) and I do not have to have a completed transaction to be able to review if this experience is poor or not.

I am also well aware of the difference between retail and trade in price, as currently trade in price is £550 for a 2nd hand, Grade A & boxed PS5 at CEX.
