I am extremely disappointed with the level of communication from Equivalency Testing. I have sent several emails and made multiple calls regarding my exam certificate, and I have received no response. This is very frustrating, especially because my university needs the certificate or at least a confirmation email to complete my admission process.
It is unacceptable that students receive responses only when payment is involved but are ignored afterward. My future studies are now at risk because of the delay. I hope this review prompts someone from the team to urgently resolve my case.
The customer service is shocking
You will get the GCSE certificate but if you ask them why you're paying certain things, they are not transparent at all and will never reply. They take your cash fast though. So if you just want the certificate with no politeness this is the place to get it.

We sent further papers, requested updates, asked queries on exams and dates and heard nothing at all after repeatedly chasing. This affected my child’s place at university.

They should be shut down immediately. It operates like a scam.
First, it only accepts online transfer, no card payments, i.e., you don't have the consumers rights protection afforced by credit cards or debit cards. This is a big red flag.
Second, the contents on their site is basic and misleading. Other than automated emails with their bank account details once booking made as it claims online, you will have to contact it and ask for the payment details. This is a long process if you get any reply.
Third, not single chance you will get your certificate on time, even if you pay extra £60 to speed it up. That is if you receive your certificate at all.
Fourth, no customer service at all. Nothing works. Calls go unanswered and emails go dead.
Fifth, terrible exam experience as it is all mixed together. It is terrible and very stressful.
The Department of Education need to investigate it and cancel its licence.

I am so beyond disgusted with the service I have received with this “company.” To anyone reading this, DO NOT USE. Like others have commented, I would rate it 0 stars if possible.
At first I thought this was a good company, as when I first emailed to receive information about the Biology course, I got a reply within a few hours. Sometimes I did have to follow up on my emails, although I usually always got a response eventually. However, it is important to note that the responses I got seemed copied and pasted, sometimes with grammatical errors.
I received a pack consisting of past paper questions and an information booklet with topics for the specification of the course. I completed these questions and emailed them to my tutor, who, to be fair, was good and provided good feedback so I knew what to improve on and what I was doing well. I got each homework back within a week of sending, which was good in my opinion.
Now, onto the exam itself. It was not what I thought it would be at all. There were at least 50 other students on the same Zoom call, all of us doing different exams. And there was only one invigilator, who spoke to students throughout the duration of the exam. Of course, that is not a good environment for an exam. The exam also took 40 minutes to begin due to people having issues with Zoom and other things.
I paid extra for my results to be sent out quickly, which I got within 3 days of sitting the exam. It has now been 17 days since I got my results and still absolutely no sign of any certificate, which I require for my university course. Myself and my parents have rang and emailed these people MULTIPLE TIMES to follow up on this, and suddenly no response. It seems they take your money and don’t respond afterwards. This could affect the rest of my future, so please take my advice and DO NOT use this company, as you will not get what you pay for.
Equivalency Testing…AVOID if you can
I was told to use Equivalency Testing for my Combined Science GCSE equivalency in order to start teacher training. I paid for the 12 week revision course and was quoted a discounted price for the subsequent exam. The marking of the revision course was extremely slow and delayed the process significantly. The telephone numbers for the company go straight to voicemail, the company seldom reply to emails unless you are paying them. When I booked the exam I didn’t receive the discounted rate for completing the revision course with them. Ten working days after my exam and I haven’t received my result as per the companies T’s and C’s. I have emailed requesting my result today and have not received any reply. Frustrating to say the least

Where do I even start. After finally getting through to them for information regarding the biology course I signed up. I payed a lot of money to receive nothing and had to buy my own revision guide and the homework just consisted of exams questions. After completing the homework you then send it off to be marked which I have to say did take a while but I did get good feedback and things I needed to revise for. Fast forward to the exam, there was over 50 people on the call (all doing different exams) with one invigilator and all you had to do was wave and show your ID and nothing else. The first 20/30 mins was just people chatting saying that they hadn't received something or asking questions that had already been asked. After the exam started the invigilator continued to chat on the speaker to people instead of using the chat which wasn't very helpful and then to top it off half way through she then came back on speaker to tell a exam that they were finished and had to move onto the next one, again not helpful when you are trying to concentrate. After the exam (26th July 2025) I decided that I wanted to pay the extra £60 for fast tracking (29th July) and did receive my results the following day (30th July). Over the last two weeks I have sent 4 emails (all to different people) asking how roughly it would take for me to receive my certificate as my university needs to see it before I start in September, but no reply. I have also tried calling but every time I try it says call ended, meaning they are ending it. My sister managed to get on the phone to them but received nothing but abuse and was told that she was trying to cause an argument. My sister explained that I have tried to get in Contact but had no reply and the lady said that their phone lines are down (which is a lie as when I have tried calling it says the line is busy) and that if I keep on emailing it is probably gone into spam. She then continued to say that I should expect to wait and that there is no time limit for how long it takes, so if you are in a rush just look elsewhere. I was so disgusted with how they lady on the phone spoke to my sister and have informed my university of this and recommended that they stay clear from this organisation (if you can even call them that)
Basically what I'm saying is don't waste your time and money on this company and please please please read the reviews as they are so true
5-Stars Review for Equivalency Testing
I had a very positive experience with Equivalency Testing and would highly recommend them. The invigilator for my English exam, Rachael, was polite, well-organised, and made sure everyone was fully prepared before the test began. She also responded quickly and helpfully to any private messages during the session, which I really appreciated.
I’ve noticed some negative reviews online, and honestly, I don't understand where they’re coming from. I believe a lot of the negativity could be due to a sort of domino effect—where one bad review leads others to follow suit without proper context. In my opinion, the main reasons for these complaints are:
Impatience – People expecting instant responses or results without considering the stated timeframes.
Wanting special treatment – Especially in communication, rather than using the provided systems and instructions.
Not reading instructions – The process is clearly outlined, and if you follow it properly, there's little need for additional support.
I passed my English exam on the first attempt and received my result within the advertised timeframe of 10 working days. If you're on a tight deadline, I’d strongly advise planning well in advance rather than waiting until the last minute—then blaming the company when things feel rushed.
One of the best things about Equivalency Testing is their affordability. They offer one of the most cost-effective options out there, which naturally brings high demand. Despite that, they’ve managed to maintain a professional and efficient service.
In short, if you read the instructions and follow the process, it's all very straightforward. I’m grateful for the service they provide and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Communication and Lack of Support
I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received. I paid for my exam on 18th July, with the exam scheduled for 1st August, yet I received no confirmation email or instructions in the lead-up to the exam.
I tried contacting the company multiple times via email and phone but received no response whatsoever. It wasn’t until 9am on the day of the exam that I finally heard back — and even then, I was simply told the email had already been sent. Strangely, I didn’t receive this so-called “original confirmation” until 2:30pm, after the scheduled exam time, when it was forwarded to me.
This level of disorganisation and lack of communication is completely unacceptable, especially for something as important and time-sensitive as an exam. It caused a lot of stress and wasted time, and I still haven’t been offered a proper solution.
Would not recommend this service at all unless you enjoy being left in the dark and chasing people for the most basic information.

Disgusting
This company has really bad customer service, don't reply to emails or send feedback as promised if you don't pass. Personally I believe this company is a SCAM and someone should look into them. I don't know why, despite thier obvious incompetence according to reviews, training providers continue to recommend them. They need investigating in my opinion.
Frustration, Frustration & Frustration
I am currently very anxious because of this company. Its slow response has delayed all the other processes. If it weren't for this organization, I would already have my visa. I am really afraid that I won't receive it before the term starts.
I don't understand why so many universities choose this organization as their default service provider, nor why they insist on requiring us to take the GCSE English Equivalency Test, which seems impractical.
I also met someone through Thread who is studying a similar program to the one I intend to pursue. His English score in another public exam is lower than mine, and the university he attends is highly ranked. However, he was not required to take the GCSE English Equivalency Test, but I have to!
This leads me to believe that there may be a conflict of interest. Could anyone look into this matter?

I wondered why this company was significantly cheaper than A Star Equivalency Testing. Now I know why.
Naturally, I chose the cheaper option. Equivalency Testing is recommended by Derby University, (& others) after all.
Their website is very basic, no social media links, no contact telephone number, not even a postal address. That should've been warning enough.
After browsing the website, I sent an email on 03/03/25 to infoequivalencytesting.com, requesting more information about Higher Maths and Combined Science.
On 17/03/25, I sent another email. No reply. On 14/04/25, a third email went out. Finally, this time I received a reply, denying receiptnof the previous two emails. However, each email was sent as part of a thread and copied to myself. There were no bouncebacks, so I know they were received. What stood out was that they deleted the previous threads when replying.
I challenged them on this, especially as they still hadn't answered my actual questions.
On 15/04/25, I was sent some files. However, none would open. I tried various devices, each one gave error messages stating that the files were corrupted. On 21/04/25, I emailed to say this. On 22/04/25, they replied saying they had already sent the files, completely ignoring my point.
So, I resent the email with screenshots of the error messages. One 27/04/25, they finally sent new files, which opened with no issue.
Fast forward to 10 June. I requested further clarification about how the exam works (the website is not clear). On 13 June, I followed up after no reply. I got a response only after the second email after I stated that I wanted to do the next available exam.
I completed the online form to sit the Higher Maths test on 22/06/25, and received a payment request on 15/06/25.
On 20/06/25, I emailed requesting confirmation that my payment had been received. No response. So I emailed again, this time with proof from my bank. Then a third time with a screenshot of a live chat from my bank confirming the payment and reference.
I got a reply, but again they had deleted my second and third emails from the thread and replied only to the first, labelling it "re-sending," as though they had responded already.
Then came the email saying I needed to use a Gmail account. This, despite having been emailing them since March via my personal Outlook email, which their own site says is acceptable. There is no mention anywhere that Gmail is mandatory, only that yoy must use a personal email (not work or school). I provided a Gmail address anyway and challenged the lack of transparency. No response.
Later that day, I received an email to the new Gmail account asking for a copy of my ID to be sent to kevinequivalencytesting.com before 8pm, with further exam info.
On 21/06/25, Kevin confirmed receipt of my ID.
On 22/06/25, I received an email with Zoom details and exam rules. A second email came with a Google Classroom invite.
I logged in 10 minutes before the scheduled 8:30am start time, but wasn't admitted until around 8:30am. It was chaos from the moment I entered. The chat was full of candidates saying they hadn't received links, didn't know what subject they'd signed up for, had errors jn their names, or joined late.
Registration was disorganised. Photo IDs weren't properly checked, just a quick glance. There were 74 candidates sitting five different exams.
While exams were grouped by subject for registration, the rest of us were told to "take a comfort break." The chat was still a mess, as the invigilator was unable to answer them all. Candidates were unsure if their names had been called or not, and others unable to access Google Classroom or having sound issues. 1 candidate had on headphones which wasn't allowed with another having a person in the room which wasn't allowed. Backgrounds wasn't allowed either.
Registration finally wrapped up around 9:07am, but the chat and interruptions continued.
Each subject had papers uploaded at different times and started at different times. The invigilator never instructed or reminded candidates to switch off other devices or clear workspaces, vital information for an exam setting.
Higher Maths began around 9:11amm, but i couldn't focus, as the invigilator continued speaking loudly to others throughout. At the 1-hour mark, when other subjects had ended, the volume ramped up: instructions on submitting, extending time, switching papers, calling out names, all while those of us on Higher Maths still had 15+ minutes left.
It was impossible to concentrate. This was not exam conditions.
Paper 2 was the same.
Submitting papers was its own mess. I emailed with my working the issues faced, no reply.
14 working days has passed. No results, no response to 2 follow up emails.
I will be pursuing this further.
They never contact you.
I have tried to contact this company several times over the last couple of months, regarding a maths equivalency test, and nobody has even dignified me with a reply. For a company that was recommended to me by my teacher training provider, I would not use them - I hadn’t even had acknowledgement of my emails to them, either. This makes the process a lot more difficult than it needs to be.

I came across this company for my English GCSE equivalency test after my initial teacher training company recommended them to me and incentivised me to use them by offering me their discount voucher. (I’ll never forgive them for it, and I’m going to find out if they’re on commission.) After 45 min of sitting in a zoom call waiting for literally dozens of people to show their IDs to the camera, we finally started the test…
It takes me ~40mins to answer Section A (1 of 3). I press Next on the Google form. It tells me something like “Would you like to update this doc? Okay/Cancel” I press Okay. EVERYTHING gets deleted. I contact the invigilator to ask where my answers have gone, if she has access to the Google Docs version control. She doesn’t know/care what I’m taking about. She gives me a number to ring. I call the number. Honestly, I don’t remember anyone ever being this rude to me on the phone before (not counting the time a scammer impersonating the HMRC tried to intimidate me into wiring him money.) The rudeness is so unbelievably bad that I scramble to get my voice notes app up on my laptop to record her abuse for evidence.
I would never recommend this company to anybody. If anything I think they should be reported to a regulator (if there is one?) for their abominable service.
URGENT 🙏:Very disappointment
Very disappointed with Equivalency Testing Limited.
I sat my English and Maths equivalency exams on 13th and 22nd June, paid £210, and was told I would receive my results within 15–16 working days, excluding holidays.
It’s now been well beyond that period, and I have received no results, no updates, and no replies to my emails or calls. This delay is affecting my university application, and I feel completely ignored despite multiple follow-ups.
I expected better communication from a professional service handling something as important as exam certification. Please respond urgently — I need my results or at least an explanation

Sooooo bad. I would recomend A Star testing instead. I spoke to an Irish lady and a man at the office and they barrated me for asking for clarification. Told me it’s not their job. All the material I bought was really old and not engaging. Bad company! Bad!
Absolutely awful service
Absolutely awful service. No care in it world for the students and rude abrupt staff members that work there. No one ever answers the call and when they do answer they don’t care about your problems and give full on attitude. I ended the call on them as there service was terrible and they kept calling me back on unknown number and other numbers. And then when I called them back they were like “I know who you are you the one who wrote that email why would you write that why would you say that” so they would upfront question you and make it seem the customer was in the wrong and not them after not having them reply to me in weeks trying to get information.
The coursework was a load of rubbish and it never gave u the right answers and majority of it was useless and only got a few replies back when I sent it. I really recommend to not use this service
Also I was doing biology foundation and there was no option in the box for foundation biology so I rang them up and asked them about it and they made it seem I was the dumb one but it was them because they never had the option and then they told me cross out the higher tier and write foundation like how am I meant to know I was supposed to wrote that. If the instructions were clear I could have known but they made it such a terrible experience never ever again.
It’s a shame that only teach first recognises this equivalency testing and not others like A star equivalency there fantastic.
They never even emailed or rang to check up to see how the course was going or why I haven’t booked an exam or anything. They’re just so quick to take your money but they can’t do anything right.

Although I wrote my English exam twice, I had a wonderful experience with them. Results could be delayed due to some backlog but be rest assured that your result will come. The best way to get your result quickly if time is not on your side is to pay for fast track if you can. I paid for a fast track for my second exam and the result came within 48hours.
