Has this company gone into liquidation?? We've been waiting for the battery they promised us for months!!
I wasn’t surprised when l saw that mobility scooter and other mobility items dealer Kardinal Independent Living Ltd had eventually gone into voluntary liquidation. I had been warning people for more than a year that the way they were conducting their business was a family owned sham which should be investigated by police. Since Nov ‘24 when they sold me a c.£5,000 TGA Breeze S4GT that had been assembled wrongly at the factory, or so says son Connor, its emergency hand brake could not possibly work. And since Cardinal’s mechanic had ripped out a separate panic brake in order to install a twist-grip throttle l was left with just one brake out of 3. Of course, the assemblers in Israel and the UK importers TGA weren’t interested and formed a ring of silence that included Kardinal, so it went to my beloved Barclaycard to resolve the problem under a Section 75 claim for full reimbursement. For one reason or another that claim has been delayed for far too long but they have at least accepted my claim after the scooter was inspected by one of the better dealers in the UK. Parkgate Mobility in Rotherham, a fast expanding and very helpful dealership based in Rotherham with branches in my hometown, Loughborough, and many parts of the UK. They will be my next supplier. For the last time, if you are buying something between £100 and £30,000 please use a credit card. No cash No bank transfers. No cheques.
Failed to pay back money when they couldn't deliver requested product. Kardinal now folded. We have lost our money. Company directors, various family members, have formed a new company 'Nova Mobility Group'. When you make your small claims, ensure you quote home addresses as listed elsewhere. Try UK company search.
In January 2026 I purchased a reconditioned shoprider scooter. I am very satisfied with it as it is very sturdy.
However including in the purchase I also bought a crutch bag costing over£40.
Scooter was delivered in February but no bag.
Eight months later still no bag. I have called numerous times since and every time I’ve been fobbed off by indifferent and uncaring staff who promise to call back but don’t.
Forty pounds may not seem a lot to big corporations but to a pensioner it is a lot.
Kardinal don’t care at all. So what is my next step?
Do I call BBC and inform Ripoff Britain? Or do I call Trading Standards?
My next purchase will be from Care Co who really do care but I certainly won’t go to kardinal
Kardinal independent theft this company should be called they take money from disabled people and they don’t send the product out and then they shut down leaving you out of pocket with no worry at all about the disabled people they are affecting. Unfortunately forThem if you google this company you can find out who owns the company via companies house. They are still trading using several other businesses so it’s quite easy to contact them. These people have set up-a new company nova mobility group and wayfinder yacht club. See where he is spending your disabled persons money on a yacht. I encourage you to report him if you have been scammed by them and check them out on companies house where you can freely find out all this info . Still awaiting my refund from credit card . Id also like to point out they could just refund me but they keep ringing me to harass me about this review.
Have no confidence at all that the £2,250 owing will be returned without going down the legal route.
Waiting, waiting, waiting.........
I am updating this review as Trustpilot tells me that "they" have asked for "more details to better understand your experience". I can only assume that "they" refers to the MD at Kardinal. If I don't give a reason then I've been told that my review will be removed.
You have the record of how many times my sister has emailed you. You know how many times my sister has phoned you. You know how many times you have told her when to expect the scooter. You are aware of the number of excuses you have given her when you say it will come and it never arrives. So what more detail do you want to know to better understand "the circumstance?"
My sister, who is 85, ordered a mobility scooter from your company in March 2026. On the day it was due to be delivered, she was told their lorry had broken down in transit. I have since noticed another reviewer describing the same excuse, which is concerning.
Since then, she has repeatedly tried to contact the company for updates but has received very little communication and a series of "polite" empty promises. The scooter had still not been delivered.
My sister has poor health and limited mobility, which is why she needed the scooter. This whole experience has caused her enormous stress and anxiety. She is becoming worn down by constantly having to chase for answers, and it is having a serious impact on her mental wellbeing.
She eventually requested a full refund of the £2,250 she paid. Although she was told this would be processed, she is still waiting for her money. This is a significant amount of money for her, and she simply cannot afford to lose it.
She also left an honest review about her experience, but it was removed. From our experience, the company is totally responsible for the distress this situation has caused her.
I ask the question is there any reason you can give me as to why you have not returned her money?
I sincerely hope your company does the right thing: refund her money immediately and treat future customers with the honesty and respect they deserve. I read from others' bad reviews that she is not the only one.
My relationship with Kardinal Independant Living has been one of dissapointment and hope.
My scooter steering collapsed (TGA) two days ago, I contacted the company over the two days of business two phone messages, two messages and two emails the last advising them that if I do not receive a call then I will have no alternative but to write this review.
So unfortunately here it is.
I hope they show enough compassion to my position to at least do me the courtesy of contacting me.
I will contact the manufacturer also.
Hope this helps you make good judgements.
Not responded to my failed battery replacement request..rang again today to find that the business has ceased trading .. Beware!!!!
Would give 0 if I could . Took my money for a mobility scooter but failed to deliver it. Didn’t respond to messages and numerous phone calls , instead they hid behind the excuse that their systems were down and had been for weeks . Now there’s are recorded message saying the business has closed and they will be in touch with people about their accounts . Think it will be hard to get money back from them and credit card charge back will be the only way
I ordered and paid for a mobility scooter {£2250} on 26th March and received no delivery. So I cancelled and was assured initially that the money would be refunded in 3/5 days. It wasn't. Various excuses and then promised by the following lunch time {its now 2nd June]. In spite of numerous messages to the company and to MD I am still waiting They have made so many empty promises. I am at a loss to understand how many customers give a 5star review and people like myself not only get no service but most worryingly fail to get refund of their payment. The very reason that we need a mobility scooter means that we have various problems and this behaviour just adds to them
Sent my scooter of for service I can back with smashed housing /decking and broken mudguard
Have tried repeatedly to contact the company to get this resolved have sent numerous pictures of the damage with no response other than they have received the pictures
Scooter delivered by palletways
There's a lot of miscommunication in the office or the warehouse tried repeatedly to get through phone lines were down being down since the 4th of July. Was told that I'd get a call back. But I never received one. I suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, and this manner of professionalism is very unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone I had to click one star.\n For review.\n But in better effect, I'd give it no stars.\n Waste the time completely.
If I could minus stars I would. I placed an order for a lightweight electric wheelchair on 11th July. I told them I needed delivery by 23rd July as I was travelling alone as a double below knee amputee.
Been trying every method possible to contact them since to no bail so I have raised a dispute through PayPal. Do not touch this company
A concerto of difficulties ranging from inclement weather through unexpected staffing shortages interfered with the delivery process. A reassuring message from Conner stayed my concern. Delivery came soon after and all was well wth the buying experience. Now enjoying the learning experience and satisfaction with my acquisition.
Very helpful when I enquired about a scooter to purchase answered all questions to allow me make a decision.
Delivery was very good and quick driver was very helpful getting my scooter down the ramp so we could unpack it.
Very happy with this scooter nice to be mobile again thank you
I've tried to get in touch regarding my scooter no one has even replied to my emails even what's app I've been waiting for my scooter and I need to make a payment which I've been paying for months 117 for my scooter now I get told I can't have my scooter? I am house bound and NOW THEY RETURNED MY SCOOTER 17TH JULY BUT THEY SAID IT WAS A REPLACEMENT IT WASN'T BECAUSE I KNEW IT WAS MY ORIGINAL ONE BUT IT HAD MARKS ON IT WHAT WAS ALREADY ON.. RUSTY BOWLTS TOO NOW THE BACK WHEEL HAS NO BOWLT ON IT TO KEEP IT ON THE FRAME IT'S SLANTING LIKE IT'S COMING OFF THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL IS BUCKLED CAN'T TURN IT MUCH IT'S STIFF... JUST GETTING IGNORED
I ordered a TGA Zest plus scooter , which arrived in the time advised , I had originally tried to order the Zest S direct from TGA but they couldn't promise a delivery within 2 weeks , so I searched around and found one at Kardinal , it was advertised as having a few minor blemishes/ scuff marks , but when it arrived none were evident and the scooter would have passed as brand new apart from a very minor indentation on the handlebar where I suspect a cup holder had been fitted , but that was a very very minor issue , I have had the scooter a couple of weeks but have only been able to thoroughly give it a run until this week , it has been out everyday and covered a fair bit of ground , and not once has the needle on the gauge dropped below full charge , I note Kardinal has excellent reviews and I can see why , I have no hesitation in recommending them to potential buyers ,
So in short , great scooter , great communication, and thank you for the excellent service
Purchased a Shoprider 8mph scooter from kardinal. Delivered in about 5 days. Delivery driver very helpful and explained how scooter worked. So pleased with it I have ordered another do we have 1 each
Unfortunatly I ordered when people were on holiday but everyone was so helpful trying their best. The scooter arrived on time and the driver was pleasant and helpful. I only found you by accident, me being new and probably naive to the mobility scene. I paid less than a third of the price for a nearly new scooter, which works well and has reopened the outside world for my wife. Thankyou.
This is the worst company I have ever used. I paid for a breeze with the hood. When It came sent it straight bk. No cover. No box on the back and its was damaged. The manager said he will sort it , as they said i have you a new back box and new curtains, they sent another and
there was not back box and the curtain was old.the scooter was damaged too.ithey never answer there phones. The manger of the place was texting on WhatsApp,when he could be bothered .all I got was I ring u ..and never does .took my money ,sold be a piece of scrap,I told them take it back and pass me my money and guess what .ignored me again . No answer at all
Disgusting behaviour of a well kno company.
