Permobil F5 Corpus – bought December 2022, delivered January 2023
I have spinal muscular atrophy and I run two businesses. I bought an F5 Corpus at a total cost of around £22,500, roughly £6,500 of which came out of my own pocket. I have been using a manual chair since 2024 because I could not rely on it.
The faults started immediately. In the first week the hand control fell off and had to be refitted. In March 2023 the chair stopped dead at my workplace and went into aeroplane mode. An engineer attended, could not explain it, and told me it would not happen again. It happened again two months later, and I was told the chair was faulty.
In July 2023 it stopped completely two days before a birthday trip to London. The dealer refused to take it back and instead kept the chair from July until October, three months, without ever producing a diagnosis. I was told that if I paid the haulage myself it could go to Sweden to be looked at. I eventually had to accept it back with no explanation.
On 21 October 2023 it failed again as I was leaving for a Liverpool match I had a season ticket for. It took three hours on site to find the cause: a USB phone charging port, an accessory I never asked for and was charged extra for, was interfering with the cable to the main control system.
Within the first year I was also invoiced up to £1,400 in service and repair charges on a chair that was months old.
The chair itself is well built and comfortable to look at. But a powerchair is not a luxury item. When it fails you do not go to work, you do not go to the match, you do not leave the house. Three years on, nobody has properly explained what went wrong, and the money is gone. I have also emailed Permobil over few months ago with no response. I will be taking this to the watchdog as Companies like yours should never be allowed to act as a facilitator for people with disabilities

Had a nightmare getting delivery sorted out from this company. Placed order about a month ago now and still not received! Chased many times and the person originally sorting it out left, and still waiting today to see if it comes. Had to chase again as no delivery information sent as requested! Finally today someone helpful saying it’s coming this afternoon 🙏

Shocking I purchased a rise and recline chair from the Harlow store and have contacted them on many occasions about a loud cracking noise from underneath when rising and that the arm padding and seat padding going all soft and flat I have been promised on numerous occasions that it will be sorted only to be let down with no contact or answers for about 3 months now I've even been back to the store on 2 occasions still no joy it's a disgraceful way to treat disabled people be warned and steer clear.

I don't usually give bad reviews but this is justified. I purchased a mobilty scooter from them last week the item in question is a Drive maverick scooter from the adds on there website the bike looked amazing so i went in and purchased what the sales people tell me that it's a drive maverick so I paid and the sales person drove it to my van as I have only one leg incouls not drive it and my wheelchair. So when I got home and tried to insure it the company told me that there is no drive maverick so I went to have a look and to my suprise it's a drive sport rider well to my fury I rang them and they told that they gave the name a maverick and that they hold the rights from the company drive that they can rebrand the scooter. Now I was told I cannot return the scooter even when they lied to me when they sold it the person I spoke to was a young ladie who no matter what I said was having none of it very bad service they lie to you till they get the sale THEY SOLD ME A TERMINALLY ILL CANCER PAITENT WITH 1 LEG AND IS RELIENT ON HIS MOBILITY A SCOOTER I DID NOT WANT SO MY ADVICE IS DONT BUY FROM THEM AND IF YOU DO DONT GO TO THE HARLOW STORE AS THEY ARE ALL LIERS
I AM WITHIN 14 DAYS RETURN ONLY USED IT ONCE AND NOW ITS SITTING IN MY GARAGE WHATNA WAST OF MY HARD EARNED AND SAVED MONEY

My husband purchased an Atto Sport in October 2024. I did bring back to the store a few months later as the folding mechanism consistently got stuck and it was excessively difficult to fold and unfold. I was told, that it being difficult was the way it was and there is a ‘knack to it’.
We have lived with it since, frankly just avoiding folding and unfolding it unless we really need to which makes it not really fit for purpose.
I had to fold it on our recent cruise as it was unavoidable, and the mechanism under the chair appears to have not folded properly and penetrated the footplate. Also the plastic at the base of the seat is cracked due to force needed to fold it.
I brought it in to be looked at again two weeks ago and have heard nothing. No assessment of what’s wrong, no timeline for repair. I have tried calling several times. I finally got through Saturday to be told that the Service team were now seperate and couldn’t help. I was assured they would call me back this morning, but no-one did. I tried to call several times but the phone is never answered. Finally got through again on Wednesday and assured someone would call me back but no did.
I have also emailed twice but both gone unanswered.
This really is unacceptable. This scooter was £3000 and it doesn’t operate as intended, and the follow up service is appalling. My husband is reliant on this equipment and now housebound because of it.

Had a delivery problem but Kerry in Customer Service worked very hard to resolve this.
However Lifestyle and Mobility as a company need to negotiate with their manufacturers to provide proper tracking information about deliveries.

My family member made a purchase of an uncustomised Mobility Scooter. Paid £3000. Her husband who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s had a good day and tested the scooter in store for five minutes. Within 14 hours she had discussions with her children (one of which is a paramedic) and the Parkinson’s Nurse who advised against the scooter due to recent decline in health and falls (this week fireman had to attend their address at 6am!). They advised against the scooter and she requested that the order be cancelled. Let me reiterate 14 hours of paying the money in store. The order had not even been dispatched. Yet this company are standing firm that she is not entitled to a refund. Their first response was he was fine in the shop (very uncouth and discriminatory given Parkinson’s patients have good and bad days).
I am completely appalled how they have been treated. This is not policy it is exploitation, discrimination and elderly abuse.

Manager Nigel and Stephen could not have been more helpful and patient. It felt as though meeting our specific needs was more important than a sale. Indeed they encouraged us to look at powerchairs elsewhere before making a final choice. We have visited several mobility shops in Dorset and the customer service offered at Lifestyle and Mobility was by far best. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

Jason was an amazingly kind salesperson. He came to our home to trial some wheelchairs for our young daughter and then arranged for us to see a couple of other chairs which he thought might fit our requirements better. The prices he quoted for each chair were very competitive. He constantly kept us in the loop with the delivery updates and came out at the weekend especially to deliver the chair so my daughter could take it to uni. This was incredible personal service and we are very grateful to him for going above and beyond.

My mum purchased a mobility scooter on finance in December and paid it off early. Not long after, a vital part broke. From that moment on, the customer service has been absolutely shocking.
We made endless calls and left multiple voicemails just trying to get someone to acknowledge us. Nobody bothered to call back. In the end, we had to physically go into the store in May because it was the only way to get any response. I spoke to the manager, who took photos of the broken part and promised someone would contact us on Monday. Nobody did.
I had to chase again, and eventually someone arranged for a maintenance man to come out a week later. When he arrived, he said he was only there to take pictures and would return in two weeks to fix it — even though the manager had already taken photos and confirmed what needed replacing.
I called the shop that same evening to say this was unacceptable. We were promised a call back with a closer date. That was 27th June, and we have still heard nothing. I’ve left two more voicemails since then and, unsurprisingly, still no response.
My mum bought this scooter because she struggles to walk due to low oxygen levels. Now she can’t use it at all because it’s unsafe, and the company clearly doesn’t care. If I wasn’t constantly chasing them, my mum would never have been contacted at all.
The initial customer service when purchasing the scooter was fantastic, which makes this even more disappointing. Once they had the money, the support vanished. This experience has been stressful, upsetting, and completely unacceptable.

My mum had a wonderful experience when ringing to get some advice on which mobility scooter would be best for her needs. I’m sorry but she didn’t get the gentleman’s name. He gave all sorts of advice and recommendations and was not in any way ‘pushy’ . It was so nice for her not to be forced in to buying something and she came away with all the information that she needed so that she can research the scooters that were recommended. She would happily deal with them again and it was a great experience, especially as mum can get a little confused and he was extremely patient.

It was great buying the scooter as it was delivered promptly and all set up ready to go and the gentleman was very helpful showing me how to use the scooter.
HOWEVER. after only a few days the scooter started making a loud clicking/ grinding type noise so I emailed for help and got no answer.
I left it hoping the noise was just a teething noise but it clearly wasnt and has got really loud...people hear me coming from a long way off!
Today I hqve emailed again once to the same email as before and once to servicing. Not confident of a reply I hqve rung the actual store and what I imagine is the overall company contact number only to be either cut off or cut off after a while of ringing and an automated messgae saying the mail boxes are full for both sales and servicing.
This is very poor disappointing after sales service.
Not impressed.

Last month I came with my father to buy a 3 wheeler scooter TA Breeze. Dexter who is the manager was very professional and extremely understanding of my dad’s requirements. There was a couple of issues with the scooter but they sorted them out straight away. Azza the delivery driver was very patient and kind in showing my father the instructions on how to use the scooter. I recommend this company for anyone who has mobility issues.

I decided to purchase a TriRide HP16 power attachment for my wheelchair, but I needed to make sure it was delivered before our family holiday to Orlando. This left a very tight window of just 6-8 weeks.
I made an enquiry over email and quickly received a call from Kerry in the sales team. We went through exactly what I needed, and she took the extra time to speak directly to the manufacturer and their logistics team to guarantee they could achieve the delivery in time. Kerry is absolutely lovely and truly went the extra mile. She kept me updated every step of the way and patiently responded to my anxious emails as the delivery date approached.
Today, my HP16 arrived along with all the accessories and options I had asked for. Lee, one of their wheelchair and rehabilitation specialists, came out to deliver it. He took all the time I needed to ensure I was completely happy with the product and confident in how to use it.
End-to-end, this has been perfect service; I honestly can’t think of a single negative! This was a massive purchase for me, and I was really anxious about taking the leap, spending this much money, and doing it all on such a tight timeline. But Lifestyle & Mobility—represented amazingly by Kerry during the ordering process and Lee for the delivery—really came through and demonstrated exactly how customer support should be done.
I wholeheartedly recommend this company and send my huge thanks to the whole team, but especially to Kerry and Lee. Thank you!
