***QUALITY CONCERNS***

There are many skirting suppliers that deliver the basics - not National Skirting.

Cost competitive and standard delivery, however when ordering skirting and architrave from the same profile range but at different lengths and the actual profile is 3-4mm different between a 3 and a 4m length, and the vertical and horizontal and architrave profile don't align - when joining these pieces becomes an issue. Emailed the company (message below), 4 days later - no response indicates that they don't care about quality or customers.

There was also a difference in MDF material supplied from the same range (some green and some brown) , the primed finish is very, very rough - all needs completely sanding down.

Chose someone else if you want the basics.

This is a standard practice, and I would expect the profiles to match precisely. Unfortunately, there is an approximate 2-3mm difference between the profiles, which makes a clean join unachievable.

A similar issue has occurred with the architrave (ARCH-A43-MDF-70-5200-18-P).
The vertical pieces are consistent with each other, but they differ from the shorter horizontal sections by approximately 3-4mm.

This inconsistency presents a major issue when joining lengths or forming door surrounds, where matching profiles are essential for a professional finish.
Having used other suppliers previously, I have not encountered this problem before.

Given this, I would appreciate your clarification on the following:

Is this level of variation considered acceptable for your products?
Were these items quality-checked prior to dispatch?
Could this be a manufacturing issue?

I would welcome your thoughts on this matter and how you propose to address it.

I contacted them and advised that I can only be available on certain days and asked if that would be possible - I asked how much I needed to pay to deliver on my available day.

They sent an invoice and told me that it would be delivered on the day that I was available.

Without any warning they changed the delivery day and now refuse to take my calls - they simply email a reply that they do not guarantee specified delivery dates.

They essentially stole my money and now refuse to talk to me. Very unprofessional company.

Great service great free delivery option as everything too expensive in London , came earlier than expected and was shocked by how cost effective , great product , no damage or bent skirting perfect and highly recommended

I would strongly advise people to avoid National Skirtings.

My order has been a complete disaster from start to finish. I paid extra for a specific delivery window, only to be told the delivery would be coming outside of that paid window despite being charged for it. After a lot of chasing and arguing, they eventually agreed to deliver.

I also paid extra to have the items primed, but the finish was extremely poor. There were endless drip marks, the quality of the priming was terrible, and many of the items had router indent marks that cannot be fixed without a lot of filler and extra work. For something that was paid for as an upgraded service, the quality was nowhere near acceptable.

The delivery eventually arrived on Friday, but items were missing. I informed the office and was told replacements would be coming on Saturday. Nothing arrived. I then had to ring again on Monday because nobody bothered to follow up, only to be told that nobody had been informed, even though I was stood with the driver when he rang them about the missing items. That is either shocking communication or blatant dishonesty.

To make matters worse, I was then told that apparently a phone call is not good enough and that everything has to be done by email, despite the issue being raised directly at the time. When I asked to speak to management to resolve the matter, they refused to speak with me properly or come to a reasonable resolution.

Overall, I paid extra for delivery and priming, received poor-quality products, had missing items, had to constantly chase issues caused by them, and was met with poor communication and no accountability.

I have now raised a complaint with my bank and am trying to return everything for a refund due to the number of issues. I have already managed to order everything from another supplier instead.

Order from National Skirtings if you dare, but based on my experience, be prepared to be disappointed.

I placed an order on 1st June 2026. Paid for 4-7 day delivery. Chased a number of times as the tracking data had not been updated. Got told on Monday 8th it was only working day 5 and the tracker would be updated. Chased again today 9th June to be told they do not have the flooring I ordered in their warehouse. I have contractors starting on Friday and now no flooring. Bad communication and as yet no comment back on a refund.

despite paying for them being primed.

These guys lie about delivery times and reside to refund. I have checked the reviews here and delivery times are false. They lied and said their van broke down. Really poor service. Avoid and go elsewhere

I purchased a skirting board from this company via B&Q. Several days after placing my order I received an email to say that this has been cancelled as they do not deliver to my area. It would have been appreciated if this had been communicated much sooner so that I could look elsewhere for what I need. I’m also not sure why I’m able to place an order if the company doesn’t deliver to my area. Perhaps the error for that was with B&Q, but National Skirtings took a long time to communicate this to me. I’m waiting for work to be finished in my house and this skirting board is required before the remaining work can continue, and a week has just been wasted waiting for it.

Skirting covers arrived, held together with cellophane wrap in one section with no box or protection.

All covers were scratched and one corner significantly damaged but luckily could be cut off. 2 of the covers had been stuck together so when they were pulled apart, it damaged the face of both and had to be sanded, filled, sanded and re primed adding days to the job and costing much more for the tradesmen to rectify.

I called first and was told they can only respond to emails (why list a phone number then?) but that someone would email me that day. Emailing National Skirting was pointless as it took another 4 days to receive a response - I was then fobbed off, received a sarcastic passive aggressive response and then offered a measly refund of the cost I paid to have them primed, which nowhere near covered my additional cost - which I am still waiting on.

The quality is poor - they're cheap MDF and the customer service was rubbish.

I wish I'd paid more attention to reviews and would recommend anyone go elsewhere unless you want no end of hassle.

Polite and efficient staff when ordering making the transaction really smooth.
Kept fully up to date as to when the delivery was due and really courteous driver. Overall a really great experience and I would highly recommend them.

Ordered some panelling slats and they were all different lengths and none of the cuts were square. They were all over the place and absolutely useless. Even worse they have a long 10-14 day delivery period. They took 18 days to arrive. Avoid!

Can't fault the product from this supplier, really good quality at really competitive prices. After some initial confusion customer services promptly rectified the errors. Will definitely order from here again.

Waited a month for an order which said 10 to 14 days delivery with no communication at all **edit** following this review i got a very passive aggressive email from them so i am updating the review to include the items they addressed; There was no expedited delivery option available on the website on 9th December and no Holiday opening hours stated either, the tracking link for me to follow my order hasnt been updated since 9th December too, hence i requested they cancel and refund it via the dispute process due to the lack of contact over the delays and they're refusing until I mark the dispute as resolved, which ive refused to do for obvious reasons. Do better National Skirting. Its MDF, not the crown jewels.
