I paid £79 for an EPC on 1st May 2026. I need an EPC asap and I went with Nationwide EPC because their website says "Our turnaround time is generally 3 working days but can often do same/next day appointments". I got an email on the 1st May saying someone will contact me within 24 hours to arrange a date for the EPC. No one ever contacted me. I then proceeded to call and email multiple times over the next 10 days with no response to my emails and no one ever answering the support phone line after being on hold over 20 minutes. Today (11 days after I paid for the EPC) I emailed a final time asking for a refund as I've ended up booking in with another company. Funnily enough someone from PropCert called me less than an hour after I emailed to ask for a refund to arrange the EPC. I explained I no longer required one and wanted a refund. The gentleman told me he didn't know how to deal with refunds and said he'd pass my details on... not expecting anyone to contact me at this point to refund me the money but I will be taking it further if I don't get the money refunded.

What a nightmare trying to get an EICR report done, over 3 weeks of trying and 3 different electricians... of which none responded! I ended up cancelling and requesting a refund.
I placed an order with Nationwide EPC back in April. The order process was very straightforward and for £79 appeared a bargain. The order was passed to an organisation called Propcert and then onto the assessor, who worked for a third company. Two days after I was advised the assessor would call me he did, a day late. Not a big issue. He offered me a 9:00-13:00 visit window and 'could not' be any more specific. I arrived the the property for 9:00, was called at 10:00 with my 30 minute notice of arrival. The assessor arrived at 10:30. He advised me that he would take about 10 minutes to do assessment, it actually took 15 as we went outside so he could photo the solar panels. The assessor asked if he could stay on drive to do his report. I think he was on drive for about 15-20 minutes.
The EPC was actually available the same evening, a day earlier than suggested. The assessor missed two thermostats, one for rooms, the other for a feed to the hot water tank. He included nothing positive relating to the 16 solar panels. He did ask if I had the FIT certificate for the panels. I said not as my sister held this.
I complained to Propcert via thier info mailbox and replied to a Propcert salesman who tried to sell me additional services. I included photos of the two thermostats as well as a photo of the FIT certificate. In early May I emailed the assessor directly to ask for a corrected cert or revisit. I included all the photos to support my complaint. I have heard nothing back. So £79 is NOT good value. Please avoid.
