Homophobic slurs and uncaring capitalism.

First, it is aboslutely shocking in 2025 that people can be called "fairy" or "princess" as a means of humuliation. Choosing to use such terms as targetted insults to men who don't fit a physical ideal of masculinity is outrageous.

The safety briefing was delivered to all attendees at once which included a broad range of people. The person speaking was obviously trying to inject some humour into the briefing but chose to do so by consistently insulting members of the crowd with such terms. Not exactly a welcoming environment for a lot of people.

As the day progressed, this attitude mercifully vanished and people were able to focus on playing. It became quickly apparent though that anyone new to the game had been put on one team and anyone with more experience on an opposing team.

It seems coming as a group too small to have your own games means that you pay as much as anyone else there but you will be used as target practice for much more experienced teams.

I raised the point with the staff during our second game that we were all inexperienced and using site-provided equipment while the opposing team were proudly boasting about being regular (weekly in some cases) players and had their own equipment. I asked that the teams be a little more balanced.

I was ignored and the day continued in the same way.

On the whole, not a fun experience. We had little access to any aspect of the game beyond being shot from a range beyond our capability to respond to. At one point we were being shot inside of our spawn point.

Won't be going again, I can find that experience in online lobbies without having to pay. There's less homophobia there, which is frankly astounding.

I had such a great experience at Delta Force Paintball. Daniel and Patrick were amazing – very friendly, patient, and explained everything clearly. They kept the games safe and exciting, which made the whole day so much fun. I would definitely recommend it and will come back again!
