110% Incompetent Employer (Preys on Immigrants).

I was signed to work for Scrubbi as a private contractor to perform residential cleans. From June to August, I worked for them. First beige flag, you aren’t treated as an employee. I gave them a full-time availability of Monday through Friday. The contract was pretty standard; you’re on call up until 1:00pm on days you aren’t scheduled and your schedule can change last minute so you pretty much need to always be by your phone to ensure you don’t miss a call. If you’re scheduled last minute, you can’t turn down the appointment, you ABSOLUTE have NO say in whether you can make it or not. If you’re scheduled and given that appointment, too bad, so sad. Now, of my two months working for this company, I performed 2 cleans in my first month. I was barely scheduled. Bear in mind, I’m an adult, I’ve got bills and responsibilities, how am I expected to be able to even afford rent on two appointments? During orientation, it was mentioned that Scrubbi would contact you after your first day, week, and month, to see how you’re performing and to check in with you, the contractor. Never heard from them once. In fact, their administration is entirely lacking at the foundation. I would spend hours trying to get a hold of their help team to sort out any issues I might have had. If you made it this far, it only continues to get worse from here on. It took a month before I started seeing more clients, and even then, it was hardly enough to sustain myself between expenses, travel, bills, etc. In my last month with them, I watched myself get scheduled the same client 4 times for the same day, only for them to schedule it, then cancel it, scheduled it again, and repeat, until it was Friday, almost 1pm, I had family visiting and they knew I might get called in. I held myself from spending time with them. I receive a call finally at 12:45pm, at a point I decided to shower, and it was to schedule me for that SAME CLIENT they continuously played the game of back and forth all week with. I wasn’t able to answer the phone, and that was a strike against me. 15 minutes to 1:00pm and you’re going to schedule me for the appointment you kept cancelling? Massive red flag, figure it out Scrubbi. You’d think this happened only once? It happened all month. The poor client, I feel so bad for her dealing with this dog s**t administration and company. On a similar note, 2 weeks notice for vacation, appointments, and change in availability is pretty standard and most companies would respect that right? Not Scrubbi. Doesn’t matter if they’ve known 2 weeks or more in advance for change in availability due to being hired for a new, and believe me, a much better job, and medical appointments, nope! I warned them of my change in availability, told them I’d give more details once I knew my schedule, and I’d also warned them of 4 medical appointments I needed for my new job. Scrubbi tried scheduling me multiple times on days where I was working. To give an example, one day I worked from 12:00pm - 8:00pm. I told them I could work from 9-11:45 approximately to give me a buffer to get to my shift. I was called at 9:30am for a 3 hour appointment. Factor in it would take me 15-30 minutes to get ready and make it to the appointment, that would mean a start time of 10:00am and a finishing time of 1:00pm. I started my new job at 12:00pm. I would be an hour late. Scrubbi didn’t care and got very disgruntled that I told them I would not be taking that shift and I put my foot down and exclaimed that I’d warned them weeks in advance of these changes. Yet another strike against me. Similarly, my medical appointment on the last Friday that I worked for them, I was to be at the public health building for 11:00am. Scrubbi scheduled me for a client at 10:00am, for a 3 and a half hour clean. Use your heads Scrubbi, how does that make any sense when you knew well in advance I had that appointment?! The kicker out of all this? That same Friday, I was terminated without cause and told I was “unreliable” and couldn’t fill the responsibilities of my contract. Pure BS.

These types of occurrences happened every single week working for this company. Realistically, for the hourly rate, it’s was not worth my time. This company doesn’t take kindly to people standing their ground. Search up the allegations; this company takes advantage of immigrants and those who are afraid to speak up for themselves. All the allegations are true.

So do yourselves all a favour and avoid this company like the plague. Don’t contract yourselves with them, and especially do not, and I repeat, DO NOT, work for this absolute dog s**t company. If you respect yourself as an individual, you won’t work for a s**t hole company like this and you’ll hire a private cleaner. You’ll save more money, build a better relationship with the cleaner, and your house will be treated much better.

This company is completely unreliable

This company is completely unreliable.
I purchased 5 cleanings and paid up front. This was a huge expense for me and was supposed to be a treat/help. The first time, it was so poorly done that they sent someone new, who did a pretty surface job (on a DEEP clean) too. The second time, they were 45 minutes late and the job was not great.
The third time the cleaner didn't show up and I couldn't get anyone on the phone until 40 minutes after the scheduled arrival time -- and then no one was able to get to my place before I had to leave -- 90 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive. The communication and customer care is non-existent and elusive. I am trying to get a refund for my last cleaning - and it looks like that won't happen. Don't use this company!

Don't waste your money.....

Update: Aug 17
Last week I got an email from Scrubbi saying they would refund me for the balance of the 4 appointments I prepaid. They emphasized that this is not what they usually will do and they Are making an exception.
Still waiting for the credit back to my Visa card.

I contracted with Scrubbi for a minimum of 6 house cleanings which they charged me for up front. I didn't like that, especially as I had not used them before.
First cleaning was a disaster. The poor girl was unqualified and had no idea how to properly clean. I called Scrubbi to complain and they sent out another "more seasoned" cleaner to re-clean my home the next day. It was better, but not great.
Today was my second appointment. A young girl showed up and I showed her my check list. She got to work and I was shocked when after 2 hours she said she was finished. My home usually is a minimum 4 hours cleaning when done properly. I went around the house- glass in both showers was still spotty, chrome on the taps not cleaned in the sinks, bath had been "dusted" she said! Floors were not washed. I saw her use the central vacuum and it didn't sound right, right away saw the hose was in the wall opening, but she had not plugged it in!
There were dead flies on the floor in our sunroom, glass tables were not cleaned right either. I was so angry. I felt so sorry for this girl, I didn't take my anger out on her, but she openly told me they are not trained when hired and she said it was "the worst company to work for". I gently showed her how to do a few things, and explained that Windex is not a general all purpose cleaner especially for shower glass and counter tops. She got permission to stay an extra hour to try and complete some areas, but the poor girl was stressed.
I complained by email and their Scrubbi survey at about how disappointed I was yet again, and want a full refund on my prepaid cleanings as I am not willing to go through this again.
I've heard nothing. No one is responding. They are ignoring my complaints this time.
If I have to I will escalate this issue until I'm refunded.
Do not use this cleaning "service".

I had a terrible service with them

I had a terrible service with them. I paid to 200 to clean 1bhk. They did not clean the kitchen because they said its dirty and they stayed less than 2 hours. They even told me the time of booking they will deal with dishes and everything. They told me to clean the kitchen inorder for them to clean the kichen. So 100+ an hour and running away from a mess? Your better off using a person from kiji they charge much less.

Excessively Expensive & Poor Quality

I paid over $400 for a 'deep clean' and it was of very poor quality. Many spots & details were missed and it was in general a very sloppy job. Cleaner left after 3 hours with about 40% of the work done.

Don’t take their offers for one year, it is not refundable and the service is too bad and non professional

My experience with this company is too bad, first of all I booked one year monthly cleaning including one time deep cleaning for moving, they sent me just one cleaner who wasn’t professional at all he left the window, the blinds dirty and he left one bathroom without cleaning he wasn’t trained at all,
When I asked for refund they refused and I am stuck with them for one year.
One more thing when I gave my sister one appointment from mine they charged me from my credit card and I asked for refund which Will be received within a week. They also refused to remove my credit card number from my file.

DO NOT use scrubbi

I would have given scrubbi no stars if this system would have let me. This was the worst experience I've had to deal with. The cleaners are NOT trained. The fact that they send a different cleaner each time is also extremely annoying as you have to explain everything each time to the new cleaner. Even if you request the same cleaner you will rarely, if ever get it. The cleaning is terribly below subpar...especially for what they charge. And DO NOT sign a contract with them. You will hold up your part of the contract by making the payment but they won't by providing such a terrible service. They last day of my cleaning contract was a huge relief. The fact that I had to clean after they had been to my home tells you all you need to know. Don't waste your time or money.

H.R assosiate is TERRIBLE

Don't waste your time applying to this company! After i gather the requirements they needed and paid $36 for the criminal background check they informed me that they are closing the position for me. Can't imagine how you treat your cleaners!

I suggest apply to Mopify.

Unscrupulous , unethical , dishonest company.

On January 30, 2023 , I ordered a I year cleaning service from Simon for $1823 . 82 using my Credit Card . The following day February 1st I called to cancel the service . I did not receive or sign a contract . Cathy refused to refund my payment because I cancelled the service . She told me " Your account will be put on pause until you are ready to resume service " On February 9 , 2023 I filed a dispute with my my credit card company , but the bank was unable to recoup the funds due to the documents sent to the bank . I did not receive any documents from Scrubbi bearing in mind that I cancelled service the following day. On March 22nd I spoke to Olivia she told me that she is the manager , her response was " Cleaning is subjective there is no refund , your account is on pause , you can call us whenever you are ready to resume service . " On April 26 I called to schedule a cleaning since my account was on pause . Cathy told me " You are no longer a customer of ours, you lost your money , you took a risk to file a dispute and we won , let me put it simple you are no longer entitled to any of our services " I asked her if I could speak to the manager Olivia she replied " I am Olivia's manager " and she hung up the phone . I do intend to seek legal remedy to obtain my money . This company stole my money, refuse to return the funds or perform the service I paid for .

Not paying their contractors

Scrubbi has been avoiding paying their contractors. No wonder so many have given up and done rubbish work. They make you pay for fuel and supplies, give you no breaks and treat you like rubbish. Don't work for them and certainly don't hire them either!

Terrible!

Terrible!! Do not use Scrubbi!! Not only do they have poor customer service but cleaning is not well done. At the end of my contract, they charged me for additional cleaning I didn't request, and refused to refund me. I only agreed to a set amount, then they decided to auto bill but I did not agree to this. As far as I'm concerned they are thieves.

Worst unprofessional service (They charged me & didn’t even provide the service)

I booked Scrubbi for my cleaning sessions trusting that they’ll be professional in their job. I had 2 cleaning sessions with them, and both were changed last minute.
My first appointment was super delayed as the cleaner canceled. Two weeks fast forward, they canceled my 2nd appointment 10 minutes before the scheduled time. I had to find someone else to come clean the house which cost me double the fees.

I asked them to refund my money for this 2nd appointment which they blatantly denied.

They’ll take your money, and won’t even refund you even if they don’t provide the service or keep canceling/rescheduling it. This is the exact opposite of a professional cleaning company. Never using their service again.

Scrubbi? More like SCAMMI!

DO NOT BOOK WITH SCRUBBI!!! Whatever you do, stay away from this company. I hope anyone reading this listens and saves themselves their money and sanity.

I booked this company and was stupid enough to prepay for 6 months of cleaning. They came to my house and "Cleaned" it but when I got home I thought that I was scammed because literally nothing had been cleaned. My sinks were a mess, my bathroom wasn't touched, nothing in the kitchen was wiped down. I swear the cleaner came and just had a nap. I phoned Scrubbi to get my money back and they laughed in my face and said as per their terms and conditions they have a strict no refund policy. When I said I would go to my credit card company they again said that if I opened an investigation with my CC company that they would keep my money and not provide my 5 other cleanings. This company is everything that is wrong with this world. They hire horrible cleaners, hope that you try to cancel, and then they keep your money. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, whatever you do, do not hire scrubbi to clean your home. I hope whoever sees this will listen and avoid the headache and letdown. If you work at this company and are reading this then you should be ashamed of your company and their corrupt policies. Why do you have no money back and why do you have a policy about credit card charge backs if you guys do such a great job.....

STAY AWAY FROM SCRUBBI AKA SCAMMI!

I would have given them zero if I could. Never same staff, often break things in my house, and leave it in shambles. I would never hire them again. They scam you to get you in contract , and won’t refund any portion of it when you are unhappy with their services.

Happy customer

Definitely happy with my experience at Scrubbi so far.....I think I have had roughly 6 months of biweekly cleanings with them already and they were smooth and well done.
