Overcharging for nothing
Had an intermittent issue with my boiler so got Solv out to get it sorted. Booked a 'repair' for over £80, the result of which was the engineer being confused as to what the issue was so just deciding that the pump needed replacing - even though it was working when he left. I noted the part number while he was out so could look up that the parts cost between £110 and £150 so then awaiting the quote to install I was expecting perhaps double that to add labour so £300 seemed reasonable to get it done - even if there was a doubt over the work actually being needed (I just wanted it off my plate). But no, the quote was £500 so really over the top add on costs just to fill their pockets. Not cool. I called them out on this and gave them the opportunity to fix it bit they simply ignored me. Terrible experience, they are not here to help you, they are here to take your money.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback – we’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience.
With regards to the issue you were experiencing, our engineer found that the boiler’s pump was intermittently sticking, which was causing the system to overheat. He was able to temporarily free the pump while on site, and at that point it began working again. However, it did stick once more while he was present, confirming to him that the pump was indeed faulty and likely to fail again. He explained that a new pump would be needed and, after freeing it once more before leaving, noted that this was only a temporary fix.
We appreciate that the engineer’s visit was around a month ago and, since it hasn’t been mentioned, we’re assuming the issue hasn’t recurred – but due to the nature of the fault at the time, we needed to supply a quote for a replacement pump to avoid future failure.
In terms of the cost, we understand your concerns. The prices you saw online appear to be for refurbished pumps. We only ever supply new parts sourced through a trusted local supplier – especially for key components like this – as we want to ensure reliability and safety. Our engineer also mentioned during the visit that you could check whether the boiler was still under manufacturer warranty, as the cost might be covered in that case.
We also want to sincerely apologise for the lack of follow-up after you got in touch regarding the quote – that’s not the standard of service we aim to deliver, and we completely understand your frustration. A member of the team will be in touch with you shortly to go through the quote in more detail and to reiterate how the pricing was arrived at.

Just came across one of your drivers…
Just came across one of your drivers who gave me a barrage of abuse on the Sydenham bypass and even put his window down and continued!! With this kind of person employed by your company I wouldn't go near it! Especially treating a woman this way all because I pulled into a feeder lane which was may I say nowhere near him! Reliable and transparent service, minimal fuss and quick turn around
Good to have a reliable engineer who can do a callout to an apartment in the city centre. Problem was explained, options laid out for a resolution. Fix required a callback, but a temporary resolution put on place before parts arrived. Parts quote provided with the option to opt out. Fix in the end was put in quickly by a well experienced pair od professional engineers. Would recommend all round!

Great service experience
