BUYERS REPORT & VALUATION.
Gateway Surveyors came highly recommended by good friends and former neighbours, who had occasion to use their services twice.
So we decided to follow their recommendation and engaged Gateway Surveyors to assist us with a prospective property we are interested in. We found the service provided by Gateway Surveyors to be highly professional and very detailed for a competitive and reasonably priced fee. The Surveyor assigned to carry out the inspection, James, we found to be highly professional and provided us with two comprehensive and detailed reports. Further, he was very approachable and patient to explain and discuss the technical aspects of his approach and findings. Altogether, a good decision to engage the services of Gateway Surveyors.

Efficient and thorough
They responded quickly to my request for a quote and information on the types of surveys available. Once engaged they quickly arranged the survey, stayed in contact to keep me up to date with progress, and provided the report within two days.

I had one surveyor from Gateway value…
I had one surveyor from Gateway value my property as Suitable for buy-to-let mortgage and value it at 290K, then 4 months later they recommended I redo the valuation as it was nearly expired, took another 200£ fee from me, and then valued my property near £260K and as Unsuitable for buy to let mortgage.
Market Value in the area places this property as £313 on Zoopla.
It seems they are disorganised, inconsistent, and also scamming extra fees. My initial valuation was valid and they talked my broker into redoing it, creating an unnecessary situation where I now cannot proceed with my investment.
This behaviour is a real concern for people trying to create stability and value for their future.

We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the service provided. As this is a Lender instruction, you will need to go back to your Lender in the first instance to raise this issue with them as a post valuation query (PVQ). This review site is for Gateway Surveyors - Private Clients only, which is a completely separate division to Gateway Surveyors Panel Management.
Prompt efficient service
They turned up on time and sent the survey promptly. The survey itself was very thorough and simple to understand.

Great Service
Great job from start to finish. Had a survey for the bank in the first instance then had them back for a private survey at a later date for HTB. Helpful office staff on email and very friendly surveyor doing the home visit. Would recommend.

Hi Angelia, I'm sorry you found the first reply un-satisfactory, however in this instance the Lender who instructed the Valuation to us is your first port of call to address your complaint as a post valuation query. This will then be sent through to Gateway Surveyors for a response/clarification.
