I have been happily dealing with this company for some years now and hopefully I shall continue to do so. I am highly satisfied with the ease to complete online transactions and the informative prompt replies from the company by email. Breeder had attempted to change details…

Breeder had attempted to change details to me as a keeper , my dog is a pup . I had to call them as details hadn’t been changed as the breeder had requested.
Then this company tried to charge me to do this , I don’t like this type of coercion when you can do a chip registry for free . Neither pay a fee or they won’t add my details .. craziness
Update ; recieved a call from them to say sorry we made a mistake … and updated details for free . But for me personally the whole set up seems to be an issue

At £18, we believe the fee is justified by the substantial value of the benefits provided. We understand your concerns, and we appreciate the opportunity to discuss them with you both over the phone, on social media, and now here on Trustpilot.

We sincerely apologise if you feel coerced; it is never our intention to make our customers feel pressured. The service we provide is to help support pet keepers remain legally compliant while ensuring the best chance of reunification. Steer clear

Steer clear, money grabbers. Didn't have much choice but to use, as pooch was already registered with this 'service'. It says dog tags are free when joining (just pay postage). Postage does not cost £3.95. Why so expensive? Especially 3.95 each tag to post. It's a large letter at most. This is just charging the 'cost' price of the item because profit has already been made by premium membership which you have to sign up for to transfer your keeper details. I would have also got premium membership free had I have bought an £8 tag, yet I have been charged £15 to transfer new keeper when the last keeper was dying, identibase or others I have used would waive this fee and just add dog to my account. £15 didn't seem so bad if getting tags etc included. This is really not a nice business model. £15 to do something self service and a glitchy app is a con.
Will be pursuing a refund and reporting the advertising of 'promotions' that incentivise customers.

I then got this response from their customer care team (30/08/2023) just to demonstrate how useless the company is:

I am sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues.

There are costs associated with offering, maintaining, and developing the Microchip Central database service, including our operation of a 24/7 contact centre. The service fees we charge contribute to the maintenance of the ‘Microchip Central’ database service throughout your pet’s lifespan.
