The mentoring and guidance provided was exceptional, it inspired and motivated Thaneesha (the student) towards research.

The process also enabled Thaneesha to experience the challenges of performing rigorous online research and communicating the ideas with references and citations.

I never thought I could make such a professional paper. My amazing mentor, Saad, helped me refine my ideas and perform complex data analysis. Overall, it was a very meaningful learning experience.

Polygence is a great mentorship program designed to help students explore their academic and career interests through personalized research projects. For students like my son, who are planning to major in a specific field in college, Polygence offers an opportunity to dive deeper into that subject and gain hands-on experience early on. The program connects students with mentors—often experts in the field—who guide them through a custom research or creative project tailored to their interests.

What sets Polygence apart is its flexibility and emphasis on real-world application. Your son can explore various aspects of his intended major, whether it’s through conducting research, solving practical problems, or engaging in creative work. The mentorship is also structured to help students develop essential skills like critical thinking, project management, and communication, all while building a strong portfolio to showcase to future colleges or employers.

What I personally liked about this program, was that my son had to do the work, be responsible and accountable for assignments, deadlines, and appointments with his assigned mentor. As a parent, I had visibility to all of the activity as my son progressed through the course.
This program in my opinion was a better option for my son during his summer between junior and senior year, versus other options/volunteer work we were considering.

As a parent, I didn't get any feedback from the mentor or the team. Communication with parents is not sufficient.

I enjoyed my experience with Polygence. I connected with a knowledgeable mentor about a topic I'm passionate about. Through this, I pushed myself to construct a project that once overwhelmed me. I appreciated the welcoming environment the Polygence team provided and the support given through the Symposium! One highlight I especially appreciated was the provided webinars for college readiness and ACT prep.

The organization of the Polygence's platforms was extremely helpful. In the "Workspace" you can plan your next session, chat with your mentor, share files, submit assignments and have a research journal to record what you have done during and before a session. The mentor is a guider, who helps you with directions, writing style and gives assignments that keep you on track. I had more trouble with finding a journal to publish my work in, since the standard program doesn't help a lot for that.

My daughter had a wonderful experience with Polygence. Tyler and his team were always open to our feedback and concerns and took them seriously. When we requested a change of mentor after a few sessions, Tyler immediately assigned the best mentor for my daughter. Since she missed a few sessions in the beginning, Tyler matched those sessions at no extra cost. We are thrilled that my daughter learned so much during the completion of her project. I highly recommend Polygence to all students who are willing to work on independent research projects.

Excellent mentors who are highly qualified and professional, well organized project plans and meetings, timely communication, fair cost, good opportunities to showcase or publish project. With my older daughter the mentor letter never materialized even though it was requested by my daughter and the mentor agreed to write it. I hope with my younger daughter/current student a mentorship letter will happen even though it has not been requested yet since the project is not fully completed.

All aspects of the program are professional, focused, responsive and outcome oriented. Great attention to detail at every level.

My daughter’s mentor through Polygence provided excellent support for her summer project - but also motivation for next steps with college applications. The platform was easy to use and they checked in frequently to make sure everyone was pleased with the experience.

Our mentor did a great job of guiding my child through the project procedure and breaking down complex concepts. The mentor encouraged my child to think critically, which was helpful in boosting their confidence and skills.

However, I felt that the overall experience could have been slightly improved, by increasing the current limited involvement of parents, especially for younger kids. While promoting independence is important, I believe that some level of parental engagement is necessary to reinforce learning and provide additional support.
