Needed a van for a house move so went to Dukinfield branch, had an issue getting a code off gov website but Alex and Jordan persevered with it for us and were so helpful and really pleasant to deal with. Definitely go back when I need a van again.

wanted to hire a van went to redcar branch at warrenby sorted me a very nice peugeot expert at a very good price when i picked it up very clean van full of fuel cost me £46 to go to glasgow and back i would reccomend you try them very easy to deal with

Tried to rent a van and was refused due to apparently not refueling the van and arguing with staff which is utter rubbish. My partner wouldn't say boo to a goose! Utterly useless staff. My partner just phoned to ask when the event supposedly happened to get a very rude man, who tried to tell my partner that we live next to the police station (we don't, we live next to the butcher), clearly a case of mistaken identity but the man wouldn't listen, got very rude and aggressive, silly thing is it was marked as u refuelled, but we refilled in there petrol station. Absolute joke of a company, can't even have a rational conversation with the rude person behind the phone.

Great service from John and Cath wouldn't go anywhere else. Rates are excellent. Fully recommend the Washington branch

I would highly recommend Practical if you’re looking to rent a car or van, the whole process from beginning to end was hassle free, the vehicle was immaculate, an up to date model, and the unlimited mileage was a bonus!

Being a large school uniform supplier in the north east, this is our busiest time of year and we often need to hire extra vans to facilitate the heightened demand. Practical van hire are always extremely reliable, even at short notice. Cath and John at Washington are always super accommodating and go above and beyond to help us out and make sure we get the service we need. Can’t recommend these enough.

I hired a van from Practical Van and Car Hire in Windsor for a trip to France, and the experience was faultless. Many other companies were either unsure about the international documentation or gave incorrect advice about the requirements. Pedro, however, was knowledgeable and made everything clear from the start, including providing the essential VE103B form.

The van itself was in excellent condition, clean and modern, and well equipped with cruise control and Apple CarPlay, which made the long journey far more comfortable. Collection was smooth, with a clear handover, and returning the vehicle was just as easy. Pedro handled everything professionally and efficiently.

I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for overseas travel. Great customer service, great vehicle, and total peace of mind. Thanks again, Pedro!

Same happened to us. Hired a 9 seater from Marble Arch branch, while returning the van there was under 5cm paint scratch on the wheel arch and for that this bloodsuckers charged us £2,200 to fix it.
DONT HIRE FROM THIS BLOOD SUCKERS. They will suck you dry. Never hiring from this company again.

I hired a 9 seater from Marble Arch branch, while returning the van there was under 2 cm paint scratch on the plastic rear bumper and for that this bloodsuckers charged me £600 to fix it. I also noticed there was 4-5 paint scratches already on the van which has never been fixed, I think they charged the customer around same amount and never fixed the scratches.

We needed to hire a van at very short notice. We went to the Stockton branch first and found they didn't have one available however the member of staff rang the Langley Moor Branch who had just had one returned and had this turned around by the time we got there!!!. The customer service we received was outstanding. We needed to extend our hire and this was dealt with promptly and efficiently.

I completed an online booking form with Practical Car and Van Rental (Marble Arch) on 14/6/25 and received email confirmation of this booking from them. We turned up on 27/6/25 as stated in our online booking, and the man in the office said that we should have received a phone confirmation from them, which the email did not state would happen. He was unable to honour our booking for 9.30am and said we could have a van for 12 noon, which was no good to us, as we had booked the van between 9.30am- 5.45pm on 27/6/25. There was no apology from the man in the office. I would never use this particular branch again, as it was their fault and not ours that they did not phone us to confirm, when we had received an email confirming the booking, which did not mention anything about us receiving a phone call from them. Really poor.

Brilliant service and easy only if all hire car companies where this good I've hire a car for family visits and holidays and every time the staff are friendly helpful. Rachel is a superstar and makes the business

the van i hired was competitively priced, almost new and very clean ,John checked it for any damage before I collected it and again on it’s return and then returned my deposit

Absolutely garbage. We rang the Rotherham office on Monday 23rd June to book a van for Friday 27th June to move house. The van was to be collected in branch at 5pm. Everything seemed legit. The van was to be a long wheel base at £100 for the 24h period and the guy took our details.
We arrived at 4:30pm and nobody was around so we rang the number to be told they would be here in 30 minutes.
When someone finally arrived it was a different person to the one we had spoke to. He also told us we didn’t have a booking, that there were no vans available for £100 (despite the website showing this) then offered us a smaller or Luton van. We took the smaller van but knew we’d have to do way more runs.

Would absolutely never use again. Absolutely livid with the service. The guy told us ‘we aren’t cowboys’ but I’m afraid you are.

When I asked for a refund for a service they couldn’t provide as failed broken tail lift , even the staff couldn’t get it to work properly/ safely. ,
