READ THE CONTRACT. What I thought was a credit agreement was actually a 'subscription' to the course material. If you do not finish the course within that time it is ripped away from you wirhout any notice. This is very hard when you have to book every practical months in advance (something you cannot do yourself only they book for you when they deem you 'ready')

Customer services was just horrifically rude to me and basically called me stupid with an awful attitude from the get-go on the phone.

Best off avoiding this rude and inefficient company.

I would strongly recommend thinking carefully before enrolling on this electrician course.

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I found a significant amount of the course material to be outdated, including videos and learning resources that did not properly reflect the current requirements. I also felt that the support provided when I was struggling was not good enough.

I failed the exam twice and, rather than feeling properly supported to understand where I was going wrong, I felt that I was largely left to figure things out myself. I eventually had to pay for additional private tutoring and also incurred my own travel and accommodation costs in an attempt to get the support I needed.

What made the situation more frustrating was the way my concerns were handled when I raised them. I expected a training provider to take responsibility for the quality of its learning material and provide appropriate support to students who were struggling, but that was not my experience.

I am not leaving this review because I expect everything to be easy on a training course. I understand that electrician training is challenging and that students have to put in the work themselves. My issue is that I paid for a course and expected the resources and support advertised to be fit for purpose.

Overall, I was very unhappy with my experience and would advise anyone considering enrolling to properly investigate the course content, support available and what happens if you struggle or fail an exam before paying.

Honestly disgusting all round, the tutors are useless, the admin are incredibly rude and some of them dare I say are incompetent, I spent £5500 and struggled to compete due to family issues let them know a year in advance and they offered me my NVQ at a discounted price after my course runs out, called then and they go back on there word.

So many better companies to go with please don’t waste your money.

If your starting from scratch access training or tradeskills 4 u are your bests bet.

They actually sent me an email asking to put a good review which is fake so I’m assuming most of the 5 star reviews are fake aswell, terrible company, woeful customer service, and a damn right joke of a so called training course facility.

My Experience with Routes Into Construction

In my opinion, my experience with Routes Into Construction was extremely a big scam of an organisation

The sales process was full of promises that sounded great before I signed up. Once I enrolled, however, my experience was completely different. It felt like the priority was getting me to sign the agreement, and after that, the level of support I expected simply wasn’t there. #Zero#

The company failed to follow parts of its own written terms and conditions. Throughout my training, I received no meaningful support, and route into construction is a complete waste of your time and money

Another thing that surprised me was discovering that Routes Into Construction was not the actual training provider. From my experience, they appeared to act as a middleman by recruiting students and then enrolling them with another training provider.

Overall, I regret signing up and would not recommend Routes Into Construction based on my personal experience. My advice to anyone considering them is to do thorough research, ask for everything in writing, read the terms and conditions carefully, and understand exactly who will be delivering your training before committing.

BIG SCAM OF A COMPANY BEWARE

Massive scam been with them 2 years going to featherstone err emailed for some dates to get back there and proceeded to tell me they have shut it down. No emails letters or anything stating they had. As it was my closest collage was perfect 1.5 hrs away now they want to send me to Wolverhampton 3.5 hrs away avoid avoid avoid not what I was sold when taking course

Signed up for an electrical course and was told take as long as you like ( even 10 years!) after signing the financial contract @ £180 a month for three years ( which I have struggled to pay as have a young family, full time job shift working and a mortgage) I really wanted to better myself
Iv had NO support and have continued to study and submit exam papers as quickly as able
I have been on three residential courses and passed them all
After 42 weeks of paying I was logged out of the course So I rang to be abruptly told I had not done the course within the timeframe!!! No warnings that this was approaching
I am so disappointed and distressed
Do NOT sign up with this company!!!

Biggest scam. I have started the exam. RIC removed me I they seen I will not finish. RIC won't extend contact, also didn't support during the course despite sending the email. They lie about everything, time schedule, place location and support as they don't want you to finish

No communication, very distant learning I paid over £5k for nothing had to cancel as ran out of time. Not enough support on there. Get a college course instead in person.

I am very disappointed with my experience with Routes Into Construction. I paid for NVQ Level 2 and Level 3, but my study time was not extended, even though I had already started the exams. I was not given a fair opportunity to continue or complete the qualification.

At no stage was it clearly stated that I needed to complete 42 exams before being allowed on site, nor was it explained when the time limit began. This lack of transparency caused serious confusion and disadvantage to me as a learner.

Support throughout the course was very poor. Explanations were limited, communication was unclear, and there were long delays in checking and marking my exams. When I was struggling, there was little understanding or flexibility shown, despite the fact that I was going through a very difficult period in my personal life.

Overall, I feel the service was neither supportive, transparent, nor fair given the amount I paid. I would not recommend this provider to others without significant improvements in communication, support, and flexibility for learners.

This company is a mess and will say anything to you to make you join and sign up to their courses . The tutors put no effort in to help . Once you sign the contract to the course they totally
Disengage with you . I do not recommend there any many other company’s out there that will do better than this . I also payed the 1st year of my course which was 2.5k and gained nothing from it as I cancelled . After I cancelled they tried adding more money on top and charging me £450 they took this to debt collection agency and I took this higher they then apologised to me for a “misunderstanding” .

Routes into construction is an organized crime organization disguised as a technical training institution.

I don’t have all the time in the world but as you can read , the story is all the same.

They trap you into a contract and start bugging you to pay , if you don’t pay, they’ll transfer you to a debt collector.

My advise is this, make sure you don’t pay a single dime. You don’t owe them anything and even if they call you and text you a million times, you must not send a penny to them.

Cancel all direct debits and tell them to sod off. They are criminals and they know it and you know it too.

For those of you who are victims, it’s quite unfortunate but like I said, stop paying immediately. They can’t do anything to you, can’t sue you , can’t force the money out of you because they are criminals.

DO NOT PAY A SINGLE PENNY TO THEM.

Things were going great for the 1st year until due to gross admin errors. I was blocked from my online course for 5 months due to a banking error which I wasn't notified or aware of 2 months previous.
Despite fixing the issue and calling admin/customer service. I was informed to contact collections instead. After 5 months of bickering with them, where the collections team finally backed down and emailed me an apology in their staff gross behaiviour and given me the proper number to get my student account unlocked. It turns out to be the same number that I called to begin with.
The worker called Robert could not be bothered to simply unlock my account. When I explain the situation to another admin worker there (gary) he was shocked, apologies and unblocked my account striaght away. Then they tried to charge me for the 5 months that I was unfairly blocked from said course. When I finally spoke to that idiot Robert, his attitude was beyond a joke. Got a written contract that states that the course is 24-36 months where he was literally contradicting it stating that the course is 4-5 years long and he don't give a toss about the stuff that I had to go through due to his incompotants which led to quiting the course over the phone to him. Unfortunatly for him. I recorded the whole conversation then reported the organization to OFCOM with the recording as proof.
They naturally fired him yet refused to allow me to carry on studying there knowing full well that I was the victem of appaling custormer service.

If you’re reading this and you haven’t yet signed a contract, PLEASE AVOID. I ended up paying 15 monthly payments of £180. I don’t believe that any of the 5 star reviews are genuine. I tried my absolute best to progress, but minimal assistance was provided. The books also have errors within them. This company is more interested in trapping you into a contract than providing a quality service to you. Had I have checked their trustpilot reviews beforehand, I would have never enrolled with them. You do not have to listen or believe me, you have free will.. this is just a warning to anybody who is thinking of joining, DONT. There are so many better companies that have good reputations that offer the same qualifications.

Worse ever. The staff are very rude and unprofessional. They won't let you progress so they don't have to invite you to work place. You do the exams you won't allow see the result, keep saying you failed and try again in few weeks. You will never see outcome of the result.

When I resigned and even kept my notice period, they started calling me again and trying to convince me that I had outstanding payments. I called them before I cancelled the contract and they checked everything themselves. Now suddenly they found the missing payments. They are so stupid that they still send me text messages that I did not finish the exam and if I need support to call my tutor when I left more than 6 months ago. I wasted over 2.5k and I got nothing from it. At the beginning they give a lot of theory so that you probably do not realize that they are frauds and their practical lessons are some kind of parody. Practical lessons online, walking around a virtual house and looking for a leak. Thieves, liars and frauds. AVOID them

I believed I was part of some scam at first like some of these reviews say (rubbish btw, its legit) just because it took awhile to actually get sent to the trade school (in my case ERR Featherstone) but this was only because I took longer than needed with the revision books I was given. But now being nearly 3 years in to my training I am about to start my NVQ for Electrical Installations.

You sign a contract similar to a credit agency as in my case I pay monthly for my training and it looks as if some people in these reviews regret that and can't afford the payments so have kicked off claiming RIC are a scam. This just isn't the case.

You stick with the material you're given and you WILL get the qualifications this provider promises you. I am very happy with how my course is going and hope to be fully qualified by the end of the year. My only regret is that I took as long as I did with completing the TMAs as I would be a lot closer to finishing now.

Don't believe everything you see on here. Its mostly bollocks.

Where do I start? I joined these in 2023 to do a plumbing course. The tutors are none existent you don’t get any form of help from anyone and the customer service is f**king shocking!
I cancelled my DD with the in the end as it was a complete waste of time! I’m not sure how much I paid exactly to them now but 100% don’t believe the bull they tell you! Makes me feel better I didn’t carry it on reading the bad reviews!
Can’t say I have a single positive to say about these guys!

If your someone that can get given a text book read and learn this might be for you but for me I need a lil extra support and the support that was available was poor they send more support to actually get you on the course then to help you whilst your on it honestly to me it felt like I was paying £190 every month for a text book they’d only reach out when a payment was late they don’t care if you complete the tma or even enjoy or understand the course as long at that payment comes in start of the month my experience cash grab and just go to a free college

My experience with Routes Into Construction has been nothing short of exploitative. They approved me for a course without conducting any financial assessment checks, despite knowing I was on a Debt Relief Order (DRO) at the time of enrolment. Having only worked a two-month agency job, I was in no position to commit to a long-term financial agreement, yet they still signed me up for a 12-month subscription service, fully aware that I was not financially stable.

The worst part? Even after acknowledging my financial hardship and that I am unable to gain any qualifications from the course, they continue to take payments for an extra three months beyond my initial contract. This situation has severely impacted my mental health, worsening my difficulties rather than providing any form of support or opportunity.

Instead of being a legitimate training route, this feels more like a profit-driven scheme designed to trap vulnerable individuals into unnecessary financial commitments. If you’re considering this program, think twice—this could be an expensive mistake with no real value in return. Expect quick replies when they want payments but anything to do with your course they will leave you waiting and frustrated! Please avoid at all costs!
