I’m not quite sure why there is so many negative reviews. My boyfriend started the electrician routes into construction course earlier this year and so far so good. He pays £180 a month, which my only negative argument is that perhaps that is too much considering he has not had any teaching and it is completely individual. However, this can also be said about a lot of college and university courses, so really is not that much of an issue. Additionally, upon enquiring about this course, the individual element is told to you anyway, so it would not come as a shock. He gets sent lots of books on the subject, including an official electricians handbook, which are very detailed and helps him to answer the questions for his tests. Admittedly, he has had an issue with one of the tests, where it kept failing him and would not allow him to see which questions he got wrong, so was essentially stuck and could not progress. However, all it took was one single phone call to RIC customer service line and it was sorted immediately, allowing him to carry on. I’ve been reading these reviews and it seems as if a lot of the negative ones are people that just want to cancel the course without actually seeing it through, and are then moaning about being charged even though that’s what clauses of a contract are. If you are not satisfied, there is a 14 day cooling off period to cancel, but ultimately, like my boyfriend, you would have done your research anyway before committing to this. My boyfriend is currently doing his practical session of this course over the weekend at an actual centre in person with others and has found it challenging, but very useful. He also has another practical session booked in October 2024. As for starting the course in the first place, there was no ‘dodgy salesman’. The RIC person sat on a video call with my boyfriend for 2 hours over two separate days, going over the pros and cons of the course, and also helped him do a table of his finances to see if he would be able to afford it. The man was absolutely lovely and completely honest about everything. I was skeptical at first after reading these reviews, but, after watching my boyfriend actually do the course, it seems to be a good one. I cannot speak for the other services that RIC offer, but the electrical route is going well so far. I also see some comments complaining that the work takes, ‘forever’, to be marked. The most time my boyfriend’s work has taken to be marked is a week maximum, which is nothing compared to my university work that took 1/2 months to be marked, lol. The work load for this course is a lot, so it is actually useful to have a week break inbetween your work getting marked as it gives you time to study your materials for your next test. All in all, if you have a problem, all you have to do is phone up the tutors and they are extremely helpful, in my boyfriend’s circumstances anyway. If you are looking to do this course or any other services that RIC offer, I would urge you to not be put off by the negative reviews, but rather do your research yourself and enquire about it in full. I am giving a 4 stars as my boyfriend has not finished the course yet, but overall, it seems genuine and my boyfriend is currently really enjoying the practical weekend sessions, which have been 8:30-4:30 Saturday and Sunday.

Bought bra's. Ordered 36 G, which is my size. When they were eventually delivered, they were at least 3 sizes too small. When I asked to return, I was offered 4GDP as " Compensation". I would warn everyone not to bother ordering.

Scam Company

It's just a way to trap you into a contract and payments long beyond reasonable notice. I gave the three months notice long before the end of the first year but they wouldn't accept it until the year was over, so they could try to charge me for three months of the next year.

In the end I agreed to pay the 12 months. They're still chasing me for the additional 3.

This company is a joke do not sign anything to do with this company they pray on people my son never got any support or help he was promised so much but they didn’t deliver nothing we have now got a bill to pay wish we never signed anything to do with this company keep well away from them this company it’s making me and my son ill the constant letters and threatening letters are constant I am now going to try and see about a payment plan but hold no hope just please please do not be fooled by the salesman.

I never write reviews for anything however I feel I should write this to warn others of my mistakes in hope that no one repeats them!
I signed up to RIC 12 months ago and have now cancelled my subscription with the 3 payments remaining before they accept my cancellation. I was talked into this by a very well spoken sales representative as he claimed to me I could leave the course at any time and take whatever qualifications with me I have earned however, this is now proving to be very incorrect.
Please be aware that you cannot cancel at any time, you must make 12 payments and then cancel but making a further 3 payments before cancellation is accepted (total - 2700 gbp).
Also no matter what qualifications you have earned you shall not be given the certification until full payment of the value of the course has been complete. They sell the level 2 at a cost of around 2000 gbp however I personally signed up to the full course that includes all qualifications for electrical instillations. What they do not tell you is that when signing up to this specific course the level 2 is no longer valued at around 2000 gbp, it then becomes over 5000 gbp. So no matter whether you do complete your level 2 within 12 months you will still not be given this qualification until you have paid over 5000 gbp. This is ridiculous and a manipulative trap.

I urge anyone who is considering taking this course, DO NOT DO IT. I have just paid 850gbp to complete my level 2 in an evening class at my local college and am now doing a level 3 at no extra cost. Please take my advise and do not subscribe to this company as there is no fast track to acquiring you electrical instillation qualifications with this company no matter how good or fast you are, they will ensure they have their money before you receive any for of credentials whether you have earned them or not. Do not be fooled as I was by an advisor named raj. If you have just signed up to this course there is a 14 day cool off period where you can cancel. I URGE YOU TO TAKE THIS!

I looking for people who got similarly scammed into the school with a sale speech “ it is like Netflix subscription“ and take legal action against them so we do not have to pay or at least a fair amount if so and who already payed the full ridiculous high 12+3months cancelation period they should get there money back because this is planed and they teaches their sale reps for the speech for luring people into there school or the sale reps are working for commission and they doing it from there on initiation but anyway is bot good!
Now I am in 5 months late payment and they threatens me for sending my outstanding balance for a 3rd party dept collection company and I have 10days to pay otherwise it will damage my credit score!
Interestingly the letter dates 24.June and I have received at 29.June so they are not in hurry and inland post looks quite slow it is already 5days off from the 10days of the letter dated!
But hay Monday I will call them and ask what is going on?!
But meanwhile I have reached out to 5 law firms and explained in the e-mail the situation! And mentioned that I am not the only one who were lured into the school like this looking TrustPilot , now I wait what the law firms say and how they can or will help!

This company is nothing but a scam when I was singing up with them I told them I was unemployed and the man that was interviewing me David Pink told me that I can quit the program at anytime I what'd to because of my financial situation with no word or indication of a cancellation fee of £190 for 12 months and then a additional 3 month notice. now i have rereading the contract I signed instead of being rushed to in sign it. and it has me marked down as employed instead of unemployed like I told David Pink multiple times in the video calls

Please for the love of God dont fall for this scam, please I wish someone told me so I beg you.

ITS A SCAM, SCAM

Terrible company manipulated me into siging up after me telling them I'm autistic tried cancelling but was told I have to pay for 15 payments safe to say I'm not paying another penny and luckily a family member is a loyer and is in the proseess of filling a CRIMMINAL prosecution order as they are a SCAM

Please do not read any 5 star reviews stating that the customer service is good and that you should give the course a go. I'm warning you all now. Dont!!!!

I have had a very positive experience with Routes into construction. Well managed, very supportive of students. If ever any issues the customer service team are very helpful. Would highly recommend.

THE SINGLE BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY I HAVE EVER BEEN INVOLVED IN.

After falling on hard times during the pandemic I went to this company to try and retrain and move forward. I was consistently lied to. Undersupported and bled dry of my savings. I cancelled the course after the minimum 12 months only to be told that i had to pay another 3 months to exit my contract. I spent a total of £1.5k and revived nothing in return of any substance. I am writing this review now because I STILL revive text messages telling me I haven't completed any coursework for a while with a phaned tone of concern. This company are so useless they cannot even realise I'm no longer a student.

Everything started great with RIC.

However, my son does not wish to continue training, as he has another option now.
As this is still within the minimum 12 month period, we have to continue to pay for the full year.

Whilst I think this is taking the proverbial, it a contractual obligation.

He has not had one call from a tutor, and the one document he received from an online test was clearly automated - it also had spelling errors...

But the key thing is, we cannot give notice until 12 months have passed, then we are expected to pay for the three months during the notice period....!!
In effect we are obliged to pay 15 months of fees, when he has completed 3.

This strikes me as being an extremely shoddy practice.

I read the reviews on here thinking people are overreacting about RIC's policies, but I was clearly mistaken.

To get a phone number for help was painful as there is nothing on the website.
When I did get through, the chap I spoke to seemed very short with me, and I realised I was probably not the first to be aghast at the terms of cancellation.

Anyone had any luck with this?

Worst company I have ever dealt with after loosing my job and being thrown into single parent life with a kid and a house car etc to pay for I asked them if they could stop my subscription (I was told by (Maria Foster) the liar who scammed me into this course.

That it is just like Netflix a subscription you can pop in and out anytime as I didn't meet the loan requirements she said oh we do have a subscription service I can ask if you are eligible all of a sudden 5 min later I am eligbe and thought great if need be I can stop and continue

Nah that is also a lie it's 100s of pages of unreadable questions if you do not know anything about this field how can I learn to do extremely complicated calculations with a 6 word sentence that say this times this plus that equals this how do you find this number
I am not good at maths and have not gotten any decent answer for my tma's it is a robotic answer taken from a list of predetermined responses to your hours and hours of work

Stay clear of this company they do not care about you , your future or any financial problems you face, I was pressured into signing a contract saying there was limited spaces available and that I could complete this electrical course from as little as 6 months he also mentioned that I can cancel anytime! no words about a subscription or huge cancellation fees of £2700!! for receiving NOTHING! COMPLETE LIARS. I am receiving none stop calls and text from a lady demanding you pay full balance straight away on the phone after a few attempts started threatening that if I don't pay soon they will cancel my course and send to dept collection agency the rudeness and harassment from this company is a complete next level joke! they sell you a dream and destroy your future in a matter of months, i am now facing dept collectors already by ric from a course I never even started hopefully if enough people report to action fraud this company will be shut down! absolute scum bags how businesses get away with this is disgusting our generation is no longer safe from these type of people.
