Skirting World Avis 

I paid for moulding lengths and opted for undercoated and ready to paint, to save time on the project. Delivery wasn’t clear at check out and took longer than expected (10 days) and didn’t receive responses to their text option on WhatsApp when I chased an eta. This meant my project couldn’t be completed in the time frame. The product arrived in a very poor quality paint finish. They were obviously painted with MDF wood dust present and were not a “smooth” finish ready to paint as described on the webpage. The finish is completely rough with a bubbles and saw dust all over the surface finish; these would take more work to use them than if opting for unfinished to start with as would require sanding right back down and starting again. They were delivered with ends wrapped in clingfilm so hardly protected. I spotted a note in the small print while searching the web page to figure out when it would arrive which mentioned reporting any defects within 24 hours. I made sure I did this with photos, although not even legal to state this for trading when products are faulty and NOT as described. I got 3 bounce back emails rejecting any attachments so emailed without them and also messaged via the webpage route to make sure. I had a response asking for photos the following day on 22nd April and sent them. I had to chase up multiple times and am still waiting for a reply to the latest. Their best offer is 10% off when product is inferior and not as described on webpage. I have requested a full refund and yet to hear a reply! Would not use again or recommend as poor quality product, poor quality communication and poor quality customer service. This has been ongoing for over 4 weeks now.

Update 5th June. No further with a resolution, I have had an email saying they are emailing me yet ignore my queries and request for a return address. I am relying with a thread of emails and each time my queries are ignored. Is this Harrison even a real person? No one answers the phone. A suggestion of 10% off to keep a faulty product is not an acceptable solution. I have emailed 13 times and received 4 back that do not answer any queries. So a fed up customer, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! WORST “CUSTOMER” SERVICE EVER, they put you off until you give up. Currently left with inferior product taking up space in my garage and zero refund! Absolute joke

Delivery a day late ("3 to 5 working days" they say) with no contact to advise until I 'phoned them.
They said it would be delivered between 8am and 10am, but then delivered it just after 7am, with no knock at the door; leaving it on the ground outside.
The tracking link they provided didn't work, just showing a map of Essex and North Kent.
On the plus-side; appears to be good quality skirting.

Cannot fault them at all, this is the 3rd time of using skirting world, had an issue beyond their control and customer services sorted with no problems at all. Would highly recommend skirting world. Prices are good and delivery times stated are spot on. Delivery guy very pleasant and polite.

Good communication about delivery of my skirting boards but then after being told it was nearby I waited for hours without any sign. When I emailed asking where it was I was told it was delivered. In fact it was delivered to an entirely different street. The frail old lady who lived there told the driver it wasn't for her but he dumped it in her house anyway leaving her distressed. A neighbour checked the address and came to tell me. I only just managed to move it to my home with the boot fully open (which was probably illegal). No apology or offer to deliver it to the correct place by Skirting World

I've used this company to replace all the skirting boards. Great prices and fast service.

A well respected Company, I have ordered a couple of times from skirting world and from ordering straight through to orders being delivered they were very professional.
The company kept me updated on all timelines and the process of manufacturing.

It was very easy to order the style and size of architrave and skirting I required for one of our projects. It arrived on the date that we were told and we were informed of the estimated time of arrival on the day. I would highly recommend using Skirting World.

The ordering process was fine - no issues - and much as expected when ordering online.
However, the window board was delivered with almost no protective packaging and was damaged on receipt.
Given its small size I can only assume that the board slid around in the back of the vehicle. It had scrapes, chips, dents and cuts in the surface.
This really made it difficult to use without a lot or intervention by me - filling, sanding and re-priming.
A bit more protection would have avoided these issues - perhaps a piece of cardboard on each face extending over the edges and fixed in place with the clear plastic wrap?

they aren't paying him enough

I purchased skirting from Skirting World via B&Q marketplace. My review below was rejected by B&Q because it did not meet their guidelines.

The product was good quality, reasonable price, the delivery prompt and I had informative updates from Skirting World on progress of the order. However, I've put this as 3 stars because the Ogee profile shown on the B&Q website does not match what was delivered. The contour section on the final product occupies half the width of the board but on B&Q it is much smaller.

Smooth order process, quick delivery within the time slot given, driver was friendly and courteous and order was exactly what ai ordered and in great condition.

I needed to order some skirting board. I found this company online. I called them to have a sample of black skirting sent to me. This call was on a Wednesday before Easter. I spoke to Connor. I said that I'm not in a hurry for the sample. It can be sent out on the Tuesday (after Easter Bank Holiday). Seven days later, still no sample. I call them again, asking if the sample was sent. The person I spoke to (James) had no idea. "Don't worry, I'll get one sent out to you today. I'll have it sent first class tracking"

Three days later, I call to tell them that I have still not received the sample. "I'll have a sample sent to you today".

Errrrr, no. You're missing the point. I don't care if you send another sample out to me today. I want to know why I have yet to receive the sample sent to me.

"We'll get another one sent to you. I'm going to box it now while I'm on the phone to you"

That's what the other guy said. He said he was packing/boxing it now. I've still yet to receive the other sample. I want to know whether the other sample was sent out. Was it?

"No, it wasn't"

If they can't even send a sample, how can I trust them to send me an order on time (or even receive an order)?

No doubt the company will reply here that there was miscommunication, forgetfulness or a computer error.

I ordered some samples from Skirting World by telephone over three weeks ago but nothing arrived, so I ordered more samples via their website about a week later (order ID 450228), again nothing arrived. I then called them another week later and they said I would receive the samples "tomorrow", yet again nothing arrived.

Today I tried to call them three times and they did not answer the phone.

I've noticed that other reviewers have also been experiencing problems with samples, and even purchases, not arriving.

I'm wondering if there is anyone there?

Missing items
Rang numerous times with no answer, sent a message with no answer and sent WhatsApp message with no answer.
So as it stands, out of pocket with nowhere to turn.
I’d go somewhere where you can speak to someone tbh.
Quick update… completely ignoring my calls and messages, have had to raise a dispute with PayPal to try and sort it.
Avoid if possible.

Very helpful on the phone with free samples posted 1st class the same day. Order was placed and updates were given. Very fast delivery and great quality. What’s not to like. Will definitely use this company for all my future skirting/architrave requirements.

I ordered 3x samples 8 days ago it is still saying awaiting fulfillment I can't make a order till I receive some samples I have read other reviews saying the same and then you get the company replying saying this isn't right for samples we will look in your it I've tried emailing phoning just can't get hold of anyone they must be doing so we'll they don't need new orders. Doesn't fill you with much confidence very disappointed not a way to run a company
